Villa Loblolly Main - Anguilla ()

The “great house” with its large, modern kitchen provides generously for groups large or small to assemble for the cocktail hour, to dine together, play cards or games, dance or watch cable television.

Three minutes walk leads to the white powdery sands of Sandy Hill's nearly deserted beach lapped by the gentle waters of the Caribbean. For tennis players we provide the only private Har-Tru soft court in the Leeward Islands lit for playing in the cool of the tropic night.

Loblolly Beach Estate, set amidst three acres of lush tropical gardens, is exclusive and private and unlike most secluded places on Anguilla is reached entirely by paved road and is only minutes from The Valley, the island's center for services and shopping. All rooms are air-conditioned and sheltered from the tropic sun by long porches with steps leading down to a magical pool, whose vanishing edge makes you feel as though you are swimming right into the Caribbean . The tiled patio that surrounds the pool on three sides offers ample room for lolling and sunbathing and viewing the breathtaking tropical sunset. A smaller patio on the western side of the West Villa near the kitchen in the “Great House” provides an ideal location for smaller numbers of guests to dine in a more intimate atmosphere. Below the pool nearly concealed by trees lies a tiled “Hot Tub” big enough for up to eight bathers.

With over 30 beaches, gourmet beachfront restaurants, a relaxed lifestyle and friendly people, Anguilla has become the new destination for the sophisticated vacationer. Scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, wind surfing, sailing, horseback riding and world-class spas are all available.

St. Martin , just 30 minutes away by ferry, offers visitors a faster paced lifestyle with gambling, French boutiques, night clubs and, of course, fine French fare.

ACTIVITIES: For Tennis Players
Loblolly Beach Estate offers players the only private Har-Tru court in the Eastern Caribbean . It is lighted for cool night playing. The two heavy -duty switches are located in the metal box on the column on the right hand side of the Tennis shelter. Please remember to light the pathway before going to the court at night so that you can turn off the court lights after your game and not walk back in the dark. Please remember that Har-Tru surface material sticks to your tennis shoes, so leave them outside the door. You must wear tennis shoes only, or you will damage the soft court surface.

A TRIP TO ST. MARTIN
For those who have not visited St. Martin it is worth the 20-minute trip to Marigot on the French side. The ferry leaves from Blowing Point every half an hour (not necessarily on the dot) and returns from Marigot every half an hour but makes it last trip from St. Martin at 7.00 pm. Don't forget your passports. If you wish to stay and gamble at the Casinos you can charter a boat. Make arrangements with Scott's office. Marigot, a happy combination of the Caribbean and the Riviera, offers a great choice of shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and casinos. There is also a big outdoor market near the Ferry dock. You may wish to bring home some of the excellent French food, hors d' oeuvres, pates, cheeses etc flown in fresh from France. They are sold at Gourmet Boutique on the rue d' Anguille off the Boulevard de la Republique a few minutes walk from the ferry. We hope this brochure will help to make your stay an enjoyable one.
