Beach Dreams - British Virgin Islands (Virgin Gorda)

Inside, it accommodates up to eleven people. Every bedroom is a master bedroom (private bathroom) with double ocean views, and all are air-conditioned. Every household comfort is available, including a huge family and dining room, professional kitchen, TV/VCR/Stereo and library.

Outside, guests enjoy the large 36' freshwater pool, the 10 person in-ground Jacuzzi, large sun deck and gas grill. Throw on your mask and flippers, then walk a mere 20 yards to the white sand beach and pristine waters of the Caribbean where the bay's two majestic, unspoiled reefs provide the island's best snorkeling and protect the bay to create some of the calmest, swimming waters in the Caribbean.

So, why does Beach Dreams remain one of the most requested houses in the British Virgin Islands?

-Each bedroom has an equally exquisite view of the beach, so no couple gets a room without a view

-3 steps above and 20 yards from the beach makes Beach Dreams friendly for kids and older adults who may not be comfortable with the short yet steep hike required for beach access from some other villas

-Most of our guests have stayed at Beach Dreams before and now call it their yearly home away from

Virgin Gorda is one of 36 islands that make up the British Virgin Islands. It is 8 miles long and 3 miles wide with a population of 2,500. It is relatively untouched by mass tourism and is known for its tranquil and secluded beaches, friendly people, and premier sailing and diving locations. The B.V.I.'s most famous natural attraction, The Baths - giant boulders forming a series of spectacular pools and grottoes - is located here. Virgin Gorda's 20 or so beaches include the beautiful Devil's Bay (a National Park), Spring Bay, Trunk Bay, Savannah Bay, and Mahoe Bay. A few beaches are protected by exquisite coral reefs that provide excellent snorkeling or scuba diving. While Mahoe Bay is one of the more remote and quiet beaches, it's two coral reefs and calm waters have earned it a reputation as the best snorkeling and swimming location on the island. Luckily for the villa owners and guests of Mahoe Bay, the only ones who know this are the locals and seasoned visitors to the Virgin Gorda. There is also an abandoned Copper Mine on the southeast tip of the island where 19th century stone buildings can still be observed.

GETTING THERE
Virgin Gorda is a 45 minute direct flight from San Juan , Puerto Rico or a 20 minute flight from St. Thomas, USVI. Air Sunshine, LIAT and Air St. Thomas have scheduled flights into the small Virgin Gorda airport from either San Juan or St. Thomas. You can also fly into the larger airport in Tortola (American Airlines has regular flights into Tortola) and then catch a ferry either from the airport (North Sound Express) or from the ferry dock in Road Town (Speedy's or Smith's). The ferry schedules and other useful information can be found on the BVI Welcome Magazine web site at www.bviwelcome.com. Many guests choose to book a charter from San Juan directly to Virgin Gorda. For parties of 5 or more, a charter may not be more expensive than commercial flights. We recommend FlyBVI at (284) 495-1747.
AMENITIES: Each bedroom has double sea-front views and a king-sized bed (one has an extra queen-sized futon, another has an extra double futon, and 1 bedroom has 2 extra single beds). Also, every bedroom has air conditioning and a private bathroom that features an outdoor yet private shower.

ACTIVITIES: THINGS TO DO
Watersports of all kinds can be experienced on Virgin Gorda including skiing, parasailing, and kayaking. The snorkeling at Mahoe Bay, literally 20 yards from Beach Dream's front door, is among the Island's best. Tennis is also available for villa guests at the Mahoe Bay tennis courts, located about 400 feet behind the house.

Some interesting places to see include the historic Copper Mine, Virgin Gorda Peak, the Baths and the Sugar Mill ruins. There are many different types of daytrips that can be arranged including sailing, diving, or snorkeling the other islands around the BVIs.
DINING/RESTARUANTS: DINING
Beach Dreams provides a completely equipped gourmet kitchen and a poolside grill. Groceries are available at several stores in Spanishtown. There are also a number of good restaurants on Virgin Gorda, including one within walking distance of Beach Dreams.
