All rooms contain 2 full-size or 2 queen-size beds, or 1 king-size bed; 18 have air-conditioning and a ceiling fan and 3 have only a ceiling fan. Las Galeras, where the hotel is situated, has three exceptionally beautiful beaches with clean, white sand and calm, safe waters protected by coral reefs - Playa Las Galeras, Casa Marina Bay and Playita. The hotel is located right on Playa Las Galeras; the other two are 10 and 20 minute walks away respectively. We can help guests organize trips by boat, horse or on foot to other nearby beaches, such as Playa Rincón (rated as one of the world's top ten beaches by Condé Nast Traveller magazine); Playa Madama, a secluded beach with a desert island atmosphere; and Playa Frontón, which has a dramatic backdrop of towering cliffs and is said to be the best location for climbing in the Dominican Republic. Families with children are always welcome. Our pool has a special section for children and the sea, which is protected by a barrier coral reef, is calm and safe for swimming. The beach at Casa Marina Bay, 10 minutes walk from the hotel, is particularly suitable for children as it is completely closed to traffic. Diapers, milk powder, etc. are widely available. There is a village health centre and, in the event of a more serious health problem, a hospital and private clinics in Samana town. 10 of our rooms and all the hotel's public areas are accessible for people who use wheelchairs. Ramps have been incorporated as part of the hotel's design. Please let us know if you have other special needs so that we can make any special arrangements in advance. For guests who have more free time and wish to stay longer than two or three weeks we can offer special rates. Please ask for more information. The hotel has hosted several teams doing fashion shoots or filming TV programs and we can help with special arrangements such as finding unique locations and obtaining interpreters and group transportation. The hotel is also an excellent location for a retreat or conference with up to 36 participants (our 21 rooms contain 36 double beds).
