In the evenings this is a perfect spot to enjoy a bottle of wine and take in the tradewind breezes and sailboats passing by in the sunset between St. Thomas and Little St. James Island. Beaches are an easy walk from Garden by the Sea Bed and Breakfast, and nearby Frank and Turner Bays are a wonderful spot for a swim, snorkel, or soaking up sunrays. Cruz Bay, with it's varied shops, restaurants and bars, is a ten minute walk along the shoreline. The beautiful and pristine National Park beaches, which have made St. John famous throughout the Caribbean, can be explored at your own pace with a rental jeep. Built in the 1970's, the secluded and spacious guest house is architecturally designed in Caribbean gingerbread style with expansive windows, handcrafted mahoghany doors and cathedral beamed ceilings with guest rooms privately located on either sides of the common room. From our shady gardens, a one minute path along the Audubon Pond leads you to Frank Bay beach - a great secluded swimming and snorkeling beach and a fabulous place to enjoy one of our spectacular sunsets to the sounds of the dappling waves. Town is an easy 7 minute walk along the shoreline road. AMENITIES: The Garden Suite is a beautifully shaded room with both a bedroom and living area, as well as a full private bath. The bedroom features high beamed ceilings and large windows which overlook the garden. The living-room, with elephant bamboo trundle couch, opens to the deck through sliding French doors and offers views of the Audubon Pond and Turner Bay. A large bright bathroom with a tropical shower complete the Caribbean experience. An expansive deck area with tropical gingers and a teak lounger provides a great breezy place for relaxing or reading in the dappling shade. The Wild Ginger Room is a bright, airy room with views of the turquoise waters of Frank Bay. Morning shade moves to a perfect sunset in this cool and breezy room, which has a cozy window sitting area for reading. The large full bathroom with a tropical shower of palms and stonework create a great island experience. Just outside on the common deck, rest on your teak lounger and watch the bananas and palms sway in the cooling breeze. The Terrace View Room features the privacy of being the only upstairs room with a fabulous view of the turqoise waters of Frank Bay and beyond to the island of St. Thomas. Entered via a sweeping staircase, this room has a private deck, cathedral ceilings, expansive windows and sliding French doors - all contributing to its open and airy feel.
