Villa Las Glorias - Cozumel Mexico (Cozumel)

Villa Las Glorias sits nestled between two other homes. It is located far toward the beach from the main road. There is a long grand entrance driveway to bring you to the house itself. At the entrance, there is a guard house where the staff live. There is a palapa-covered parking area big enough for two cars.
The entrance of the house greets you with a natural river-rock lined water fountain. There are plants everywhere. The entrance of the house captures your attention to look at the pool and beach area.

Villa Las Glorias is a large four-bedroom, four and a half baths home, complete with beachside patios, balconies, and a raised pool with a furnished concrete patio surrounding it.

The patio area is above the white sand beach by about eight feet and gives you the advantages of the beach plus an ocean view. There is a wooden bridge that takes you down to the ocean level and a natural trail that leads through the small "jungle" area that naturally runs parallel to the ocean's shore line. On the north side of the pool area, there is a wooden deck covered with a palapa and long planter filled with beautiful tropical plants.

The home is very warm and luxurious. The unique tile work and natural elements like raw wood achieve a unique, beautiful style. The sunken living area is in the center of the house. The dining room is raised and overlooks the pool area towards the beach, and has no wall to separate it from the living area. The kitchen sits back on the other side of the dining room. There is one bedroom on this floor with two full-size bed (standard beds) overlooking the long winding road that leads to the entrance of the house. This bedroom enjoys its own private patio area accented by the natural rock filled fountain in the entrance of the house. There is a locked study for the homeowner that overlooks the swimming pool area. This room is not open for guests.

The upstairs has three bedrooms, one with queen-size and the other two with king-size beds. The master bedroom has a huge bathroom with double sinks in the center of the room and large outside double shower. There is concrete built-in shelving with rounded edges throughout the house. The designer used beautiful hand-painted tiles as well as modern tiles. The two really complement each other.

The style of the furnishings and décor are unique. Most of the beds, frames, and side tables are built into the walls of white concrete. There are rustic-style cabinets throughout the house made from mahogany wood frames inlaid with native wooden sticks. One of Cozumel´s finest artists, Galo, was commissioned to provide the artwork throughout the house. The interior designer chose many Maya and Mexican pieces as well to accent the mood and style of the house. The most striking element and the most important feature of Villa las Glorias is the white sand beaches unique to this part of the island.
