If you are interested in telephones, room service, TV, daily newspapers --- do not read any further. BUT "Krabby Ken" says if you are looking for friendly personal service, relaxed "island" atmosphere, great food, beach combing on miles of deserted beaches, no crowds, coconut palms, a great view of the sea, and hammocks to lie in and read your favorite book, then WELCOME TO THE RAINBOW INN!

Rainbow Inn - Bahamas (Governors Harbour)

The Inn's studio rooms are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, micro-wave oven, and toaster. The rooms have a double bed and a twin bed in them, plus a small dinette table and chairs. Each room has an overhead ceiling fan and an air conditioner for your comfort. The private bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Just outside your door is your own private deck with lounge chairs for soaking up the sun or that late afternoon siesta.

We are a small, friendly, informal INN by the sea and specialize in personal service. The INN's location on the island makes it an ideal base from which to explore the rest of Eleuthera. Within minutes of the INN are some of the island's top tourist attractions: Surfer's Beach, the Famous Caves of Hatchet Bay, Glass Window Bridge, the Pineapple Fields of Gregory Town, plus our own Secret Beach. We even have "Bonefish Graham's" own personal guide book on bone fishing in Eleuthera.

Our waterfront area with its seaside tennis court and some of the best snorkeling on the island (one of the sites on the Jean-Michel Cousteau Bahama Out island Snorkeling Adventures) will provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family.
AMENITIES: Our rooms have refrigerators, coffee makers, microwave ovens, and toasters plus a gas grill by the pool.
ACTIVITIES: "Tings" To Do in Eleuthera
NOTHING!!!! If you are looking for a vacation where one of the top attractions is "nothing to do" you are in luck. "Krabby" Ken's words to live by while you are on the island are "SLOW DOWN, RELAX AND BE PATIENT." So if you can use nothing, we have it for you -- no telephones in rooms, no television, no traffic, no traffic lights (actually there is one but it has not worked since 1992). Are you beginning to get the picture? If you just want to relax and slow down, the INN is the perfect place to do it.

HOWEVER, if you are adventuresome

Explore the island with Charlie.

See the beauty of Eleuthera with a variety of day trips that take you through many quaint island villages.

If you are a snorkeler or would like to learn, Charlie is a certified "NAUI" snorkeling instructor as well as the INN's official "Jean Michel Cousteau's Out Island Snorkeling Adventure instructor. He has developed a complete map set of the island showing all the secluded beaches, shipwreck locations, lobster spots, and points of interest.
Beach comb.

With miles of deserted beaches to explore, you might be lucky enough to find a glass fishing float, a unique piece of driftwood, or a sea shell to treasure. You can spend the whole day on a beach and not see another person -- great for working on that "all over tan".

Go Bone Fishing.

Bone fishing at its best is on Eleuthera. NO need to hire a guide!!! Bonefish Graham, a professional fisherman from England, has written a complete guide for fishing for bonefish based at the Rainbow Inn. It includes everything -- great locations, bait to use, tide information, what to bring for food and drink -- and where to go with the family so that they might enjoy the beach while you are catching "bones".

Enjoy Sports.

Play tennis on our seaside court.
Golf at a famous Robert Trent Jones designed golf course on the island.

Hey, I thought "Krabby" Ken said there was nothing to do. Whether you are looking for "nothing to do" or days full of "Island Adventures" you will find it all at the Rainbow Inn.
DINING/RESTARUANTS: Rainbow Inn's Seaside Bar and Restaurant
Eleuthera, Bahamas

Unsurpassed in the islands, the INN serves up fantastic native and continental dishes. To start with, the INN features the largest dinner menu on Eleuthera. For "starters" try our conch fritters … lots of conch and served piping hot. Or how about one of Theresa's famous chowders? Bahamian Fish or Conch Chowder is almost a meal in itself. "Krabby Ken's" own home made Onion Soup loaded with lots of cheese is another favorite (Don't tell, but "Krabby" stole this recipe from a famous French Chef from Martinique. While he was at it, he also ran off with their Escargot – loaded with garlic – and creamed spinich recipes.)

Now for the main course. The islands are famous for their fish dishes – and so is the INN. Grouper – very mild, sweet tasting fish – is served three unique ways. Try our crispy fried grouper "fingers", Bahamian Steamed Fish with a fresh onion and tomato sauce, or our poached grouper. We have lobster, conch, steaks, chicken, shrimp, seafood pasta just to name a few of the delicious items on our menu.

Plus, we make some of the best home made desserts on the island – KEY LIME PIE!!!!! RUM CAKE!!!

Our nautical bar is decorated with over 30 years of island beach combing: ships wheels, lanterns, yacht clubs and sailing ships burgees from around the world AND it serves the best in "Island Grog." Don't leave without trying one of Charlie's famous Pina Coladas.
Type: Hotel Beach Location: Beach Front (Directly on Beach/Water Front)
