Keifito's Plantation Retreat - Bay Islands (West Bay, Roatan)

Keifito's Plantation Retreat
Designed for people who don't want to be hemmed in by schedules or preplanned activities, Keifito's offers a welcome alternative to many of Roatan's resorts. Our simple style will remind you of a nature park with a camplike atmosphere. No fancy itineraries here- just the freedom to do whatever you want.

Screened in cabins with personal bathrooms allow for lots of privacy in an accessible location halfway between town and West Beach. Located on Keiffer's Beach, the resort itself is very quiet, surrounded by nature. You can stay on the property and enjoy the private beach, or with just a short walk, you can find restaurants, bars, and discos in town. Walk the other direction and enjoy the clear water and white sand of the well-known Tabyana Beach.

Where is it? How do I get there?

Keifito's is located on the beach between West Bay and West End. You will have all of the advantages of town- restaurants, nightlife, and shopping- but also enjoy having a quiet and laid-back place to come home, sleep and relax. You can easily catch a direct taxi from the airport to the hotel. Or you can take the water taxi from West End for approximately $1.

Tell me about meals...

From 7:30- 11:30 AM, we set up coffee and a buffet of fresh fruit picked from our plantation. Or you can cook whatever you like in our spacious kitchen with refrigerator. If you don't feel like cooking, you can choose from the many restaurants in West End or around Roatan. We have everything from a simple inexpensive places serving island staples to more extravagant full-menu restaurants. Can't make up your mind on where to go? Just ask, and we'll be happy to tell you about our favorite restaurants.
Another option is to head for the grocery store. The kitchen and bar are always open, fully stocked with cookware and barware. We keep sodas, ice and glasses available along with fresh oranges, coconuts and other fruit from the plantation for mixers. Run into town and pick up some Honduran rum (or whatever you like) and mix up a "real" tropical drink.
AMENITIES: Tell me about the rooms...

Wooden cabins sit beneath the palms and among the tropical flowers. Each of the ten rooms has large windows with screens and wooden louvers to let the breeze in from all directions. Inside, you'll have complete furnishings- a double and twin bed, a private bath with a shower, an open closet, drawers, a table and lamp. Two rooms have private kitchens. The rest share a large kitchen in the dining room/bar. Bed linens and towels are included, and maid service cleans every other day.

We've made sure that your room will be comfortable and easy to live in. You'll love sitting on your private porch to enjoy the lush tropical views and to watch our unforgettable sunsets over the Caribbean Sea. Don't go in when night falls! Relax and discover how bright the stars really are!!

ACTIVITIES: What is there to do?
LOTS... if you want to.
Or hammocks, porches and sundecks for relaxing if you don't.
Many people come just to relax while on extended travels through Central America. Others dive every day. Keifito's is a perfect base to explore Roatan. The water taxi comes right to our dock, or you can rent a car and drive around the island.

We have deep water for swimming, and a shallow reef for snorkeling right off of our beach. Several deep cuts lead through the reef for snorkeling, shore diving or kayaking. Roatan is famous for its beautiful barrier reef. Save at least a day or two to see it by snorkeling or diving.

SCUBA DIVING

Similarly, we can arrange for a dive boat to pick you up at our dock. Or head into town and pick up a boat from there. Dive operations we recommend range from smaller shops with very personalized service and small boats to bigger facilities designed to handle groups on larger boats. It all depends upon what you like! Some operators we recommend are Sueno Del Mar, Ocean Divers and Reef Gliders. In the winter season, ask around West Bay for Renee "the German". He's the best!
