Guana Beach House - Bahamas (Abaco)

If you are looking to rent a beach house, you will not be disappointed. This is the real thing!

Guana Cay... swim, surf, beachcomb or do nothing at all; it's a way of life on this sparkling island in the Stream. Just off Great Abaco, Guana Cay is surrounded by beautiful coral formations that can be explored while wading or snorkeling its secluded white beaches. The fishing and diving are spectacular.

The beach house is located on the most beautiful white sand beach in the Bahamas, just a five minute walk to the settlement, adjacent to a small resort and 200 feet from a world class beach bar, Nippers Bar and Grill.

AMENITIES: The home has two bedrooms and one bath, and is centrally air-conditioned. The large living room and fully equipped custom kitchen feature an open concept with vaulted ceilings and an island style cupola. The bedrooms have queen size captains beds and ample closets.

Tongue and groove cypress covers the walls throughout and wood floors complete the warm island atmosphere. The large oceanfront deck is complete with a full size Weber grill and a staircase that leads to the powdery white sand of Guana beach.
ACTIVITIES: The mild climate of Abaco makes it superb for outdoor activities of all kinds. The moderating effect of the surrounding water and constant breezes keep the temperature almost constant year-round. Winters are warmer and summers are cooler than in nearby Florida. Enjoy your favorite sports all year long!

Water Sports The turquoise waters of the Sea of Abaco invite you to jump in! Swimming, snorkeling and diving are popular sports in the warm Carribean waters. Live coral and beautiful tropical fish are abundant, and dolphins swim nearby. On the Atlantic side, a barrier reef protects miles of sandy beaches. Occasional breaks in the reef create spectacular locations for surfing!

Boating and Fishing The Abacos are a sailing paradise - with 120 miles of islands and cays to explore, you can spend a lifetime discovering beautiful, private beaches and small villages with friendly people. You can also rent a power boat for island-hopping or fishing. Bonefish are plentiful on the flats, tuna, wahoo, dolphin, sails and marlin a short distance out, and there's terrific reef fishing. Try your hand at lobster in season, too! If you prefer to just watch the fish, visit Fowl Cay National Park underwater preserves.

Sightseeing 18th century villages are scattered through the islands. Albert Lowe Museum is a restored 150-year-old mansion that now houses exhibits on local history. Picturesque Hope Town, on Elbow Cay, is the home of a candy-striped lighthouse which overlooks a harbour reminiscent of a New England village from years ago. Man-O-War Cay has a tradition of shipbuilding that has been passed down for centuries. ·

About Great Guana Cay
Great Guana Cay is approximately seven miles long with a spectacular beach on the ocean side that offers wonderful swimming, snorkeling and beachcombing. There is excellent fishing on the reefs and offshore. Bonefish abound in the shallow bays on the Sea of Abaco side of the cay.

Guana settlement is a village of colorful Bahamian homes, gift shops featuring local craftsmen and lovely tropical resorts and restaurants. Daily ferry service makes it easy to get here from Marsh Harbour. If you rent or own a boat, Guana's central location makes it a short ride to Treasure Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Man-O-War Cay or Elbow Cay.
DINING/RESTARUANTS: Guana is home to Nippers Beach Bar and Grill - a great place to spend the afternoon...You can snorkel on the reef just 150' from shore, walk the beach, take a dip in the pool, get great food and drinks, and enjoy the best ocean view in the Bahamas!
