Angelfish Reef - Turks and Caicos (Providencialas)

Welcome to an extraordinary Caribbean retreat. Rejuvenate your soul in this secluded home surrounded by shimmering turquoise water and soothing, refreshing tropical breezes. A convenient 80 minute flight from Miami, Florida, Angelfish Reef is on the island of Providencialas (Provo) in Turks and Caicos, British West Indies.

Only a 10 minute drive from the Provo airport and you arrive at this very private, one bedroom vacation paradise.

The Turks and Caicos Islands, comprising eight islands and some 40 cays, lie at the southeastern end of the Bahamas chain, 575 miles southeast of Miami and 90 miles north of the island of Hispaniola. The islands are generally flat, with rolling hills.

AMENITIES: Completed in 1998, it offers all the amenities and comforts of home, yet it is away from the large resorts. The dipping pool was completed in 2002. The property has a unique flavor rarely found anywhere in the world. The picture perfect views from the wrap around deck are absolutely spectacular. Many people say Provo has the most beautiful water in the world. And you may want to spend hours marveling at the ever changing colors of the water from the privacy of your own home, perhaps while lounging from the double hammock on the deck. Constant breezes always keep you comfortable. These photographs only give you a small hint of the beauty that will touch your soul..

The house is one lot off the water on both sides, which gives you a 300 degree water view. On the bedroom side (east), the sun rises over Chalk Sound National Park with its dozens of cays and continuously changing water color, with a creamy turquoise color and 100+ additional shades that appear depending on the sun and cloud conditions. To bathe in the glorious warm, crystaline waters of the Sound, take a 2 minute walk from the house. And you're there!! The beautiful, secluded white sand beach of Taylor Bay is just a 4 minute drive from the house.

From the living room (west) the sun sets over the Caribbean Sea. The living room also overlooks the very romantic, private pool located only a few feet from the house. Free entertainment is provided each night, simply enjoy the dramatically colorful sunset show. The wrap around deck was designed so you may continuously marvel at the ever changing panoramic view.
ACTIVITIES: The island offers many comforts: including secluded beaches, world class scuba diving with a variety of operators to choose from, world class fishing, sailing, 18 hole championship golf course, shopping, gambling, many restaurants, modern grocery stores, the only conch farm in the world, and a quiet Caribbean life style on this 37 square mile island. Development on the island is just begining to boom. We suggest you visit now while it is still a relatively "undeveloped" paradise. Some refer to the island as being like Grand Cayman was 30 years ago.

Pool - Dip in the soothing waters of your romantic, private pool. Bathe in the sunlight or the moonlight with no one around, only you and the birds. Your pool is located only a few feet from the house. The pool (10 feet x 16 feet) is newly completed, we will add pictures very soon.

Diving - Diving is world class with pristine waters, abundant coral reefs and marine life. There are several different dive operations. Fifi of Caicos Adventures has discovered many of the sites off West Caicos (an uninhabited island) where they dive. He offers wonderful lunches and great service.

Fishing - Fishing is also world class (Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Mackerel, Dolphin, Barracuda and Shark). Every July there is an International Annual Billfish Tournament. The pot is in the 6 digits and some marlins come in at over 500 pounds. There are always extraordinary fishing boats at the marina, which they are expanding due to the growing popularity of Provo as a fishing destination.

Sailing - Sail to an uninhabited island, enjoy a sunset cruise or chart your own course. Operations are flexible and affordable.

Snorkeling and Beaches - A two minute walk from the house and you can swim and snorkel in Chalk Sound National Park. A 4 minute drive from the house puts you on Taylor Bay, a small quiet bay where you frequently see star fish in the calm, crystal waters. It faces west and therefore is a very nice place to watch the sunset and look for the famous green flash that occurs just as the sun sets in a cloudless sky.

Provo is becoming well known for Grace Bay (a 12 mile stretch) which Conde Nast readers 1999 rated as the most beautiful beach in the world. The sand feels like baby powder. One of the worlds top ranked snorkeling areas (Smiths Reef) is on Grace Bay. There are other beaches, some very secluded, that we have found over the years. It is nice to explore, perhaps you will find you own paradise beach. Caicos Adventures (see above) may take you to West Caicos for snorkeling and strolling on this uninhabited island. Snorkel trips are also available to other near by islands.

Golf - This 18 hole championship course and Golf Club is open to visitors.
Rental clubs, carts, driving range and packages are available.

Kayaking - For your pleasure take the 2 person Angelfish kayak out to explore the cays and marine life of Chalk Sound. Or, on the other side of the house explore the tidal harbor which opens into the sea. Or take the kayak wherever you wish on the island. It is fun and it is inflatble. There are 2 sets of oars and a battery powered inflator.

Resting - One of the best features about the house is the extraordinary restful place that it is. All the creature comforts are at your finger tips so that you will feel very much at home. The house is relatively secluded, there are only several other houses within view and that is because you are the highest point around. The house was designed to be built up high to capture the 300 degree water view. It is absolutely breathtaking- the color of the water changes constantly. And you look out over 3 separate bodies of water; the Sound, Silly Creek which is a natural harbor, and the Caribbean Sea. There are frequently nights when you may lay on the double hammock under the bright stars and hear absolutely nothing. Other nights depending on the time of year you may hear a low hum of crickets. The house has a large yard which adds to the tranquility.

From your paradise home you can watch the sun rise over Chalk Sound and you can watch the sun set over the Caribbean Sea from the living room. The colors are spectacular- deep reds, oranges and yellows to soft purples and blues. Every day the colorful show is new and different. It is a very restful place. The perfect place to fully appreciate the wonders of the world and the beauty and grace in your life.
