Blackbird Caye Resort - Belize ()

As civilization disappears, pristine beaches, coral reefs and warm, clear water appears. You have arrived. You are at Blackbird Caye Resort.

Your vacation begins when you are met by resort staff at the Belize International Airport for a 20 minute ride to our dock in Belize City. There you will board our fast 50 foot transfer vessel for the spectacular 32 mile trip to Blackbird Caye Resort.

While sipping on complimentary sodas and Belizean beer you will be weaving through coconut covered sand and mangrove islands, which will lead to the Belize Barrier Reef and then to the western side of Turneffe Atoll, home of Blackbird Caye Resort. The fast one-and-a-quarter hour trip is both exciting and scenic. When you arrive the excitement continues, although at a slower pace.

There is something at Blackbird Caye Resort for everyone. Sunfish sailboats, windsurfers, kayaks, canoes, and more. You can be as busy as you like, learning to sail or slow down and read a book among the 166 acres that encompass our resort.

You will hear no planes, no trains, no automobiles. You will relax to the sound of water lapping on the shore, birds singing in the morniing and wonder why you don't indulge in trips like this more often.

The Dining Area
At the front of the main dock is our huge palapa syle restaurant and lounge area. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, while dinner is served at your table with a choice of turf or surf. Your evening meal is complete with home-made dessert. Juices and water are available all day and appetizers are served before dinner.

The Docks
At the foot of our 166 acre resort are the southern and main working docks, extending like fingers into the crystal Caribbean Sea. The southern dock is located in front of our seaside bar and is used for relaxing, swimming, sipping on your favorite drink, and late night star gazing.

The main dock, with the dive and snorkel shop, is the natural hub of the resort. This is where you will board the boat for diving, snorkeling, fishing and leisure trips. When you look below the docks, you will see marine life such as tarpon, , bonefish, barracuda, stingrays, nurse sharks and much, much more.

The working dock is where we fuel our boats daily. We built the dock for the safety and convenience of out guests.
AMENITIES: The Cabanas
All of Blackbird Caye Resort's private individual cabanas face the Caribbean Sea. The cabanas have private porches with chairs, hammock, an interior seating area, double or queen beds, a private bathroom with shower, hot water and offers daily maid service.

Our triplex features a huge front porch facing the Caribbean Sea. Each of the private rooms has a private bathroom, double beds and daily maid service.

Our Duplex also features air conditioning, a large front porch with both rooms having its own private baths and double beds.
ACTIVITIES: The Diving
The first time you set up your gear is the last time you set up your gear. Our staff will set up your gear each morning and change your tanks after each dive. We plan 17 of the best dives around Turneffe and Lighthouse Atolls. While at Turneffe you will dive sites such as Blackbird Wall, Little Calabash Wall, Runway and The Elbow. At Lighthouse Atoll, you will dive the Blue Hole, Halfmoon Caye Wall, all of which are world-class dive sites.

The Snorkeling
Snorkelers have daily guided trips and are encouraged to ask questions about marine flora and fauna. Snorkelers will see the best of Belize as well. Snorkeling sites include our own Blackbird Reef, located directly in front of our main dock. Blackbird Cut, Calabash Cut, The Blue Hole, and Halfmoon Caye. All are excellent snorkel sites at which you will see stingrays, groupers, eagle rays, nurse sharks and much, much more.

The Fishing
Turneffe Atoll is known worldwide for its incredible flats fishing. The grand slam of fly fishing (tarpon, permit and bonefish) is a realistic goal at Blackbird Caye Resort. Offshore fishing could net you wahoo, sailfish, marlin, and more. We recommend bringing your own fishing gear.

The Fun
There is something at Blackbird Caye Resort for everyone. Sunfish sailboats, windsurfers, kayaks, canoes, and more. You can be as busy as you like, learning to sail or slow down and read a book among the 166 acres that encompass our resort.
