Caribbean Villas - Belize (Ambergris Caye)

Wil and Susan Lala opened Caribbean Villas Hotel on the island of Ambergris Caye in the fall of 1991. Caribbean Villas is located on the beach in a wide coconut grove... We have two hot tubs, a "people perch" for bird watching and hammocks under the palms (the ultimate for R and R). There is a 360 foot pier with sun deck, gazebo, swim platform, and an artificial reef for snorkelers.

We also have a fleet of bicycles for short trips into town or for sight seeing on the island. Our activities desk can arrange for scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling, and trips to the Belize Zoo. Day trips to the Maya ruins of Altun Ha and Lamanai depart from the hotel pier. While our guests enjoy the privacy and quiet of our location outside of town, we are easy walking distance to shopping and dining.

We gave a great deal of thought to the pro's and con's of having a restaurant and bar right at the Caribbean Villas, but decided in favor of selecting a location for the hotel with easy access to the many interesting restaurants in San Pedro Town. Getting out and experiencing the sights, sounds, and many tastes of Ambergris Caye will add greatly to your enjoyment of the island. A walk along the beach to dinner at sunset and the stroll home under a starry sky is the perfect way to end your day in this tropical paradise. We give all our guests a tour of San Pedro Town when they arrive. We point out the many restaurants and talk about the specialties of each.

Deluxe suite
We also have a couple who will deliver breakfast to your room or we can provide you with a cook for your entire stay. There are several restaurants that have free delivery.

All the suites have kitchens and even the rooms have a small refrigerator and coffee pot. Once purchased by phone, a case of Coke or Belikin, the local beer, can be delivered free to your room so you will always have a cool drink while you're in the hammock or watching the sun sink into the lagoon from our very own observation tower in the jungle.
AMENITIES: A suite at Caribbean Villas is like having your own condo on the beach. Each suite has air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens, living/dining rooms, bedroom and bathroom. Some suites have an additional sleeping loft and a second bathroom. Besides suites, we also have 3 rooms with private bath. The 1-bedroom suite is most often requested. While few guests do much cooking, they like being able to fix coffee in the morning and all guests enjoy having a refrigerator and filling it with tropical fruit for snacks and Coke or Belikin (the Belizean beer).
ACTIVITIES: Ambergris Caye has a wonderful variety of activities. These recommendations are based on personal experience and feedback from our previous guests. Many of the trips require a minimum of people for the trip to go. By contacting us we can help get groups together. Also, if a guide calls with a change we can make sure this information reaches you. Most trips begin at the end of our pier. Stop by the office; we will be happy to help you plan your activities.
