Hotel Flamingo - Cozumel Mexico (Cozumel)

Centrally located just two blocks from the Town Square and a half block from the waterfront, the Flamingo is convenient to all that Cozumel has to offer. Excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment are just steps away, yet the Flamingo lies tucked away on a residential street where you can quietly relax after a long day of exploring the island.

Personalized service is our specialty at the Flamingo and our English speaking front desk staff can help to make your vacation special with insider's suggestions for restaurants, quiet beaches, watersports, and Mayan ruins. For Scuba Divers and snorkelers, we offer the Flamingo Divers program which features diving on world famous Palancar Reef. For sun worshipers, we offer our Beach club at Playa Azul where you can lounge away while enjoying a tropical drink or take part in a game of beach volleyball. Or explore the island via moped or car at your own pace and discover a beautiful secluded beach on the other side of the island. View Mayan ruins at San Gervasio or go horseback riding on a long white sand beach..

The options for things to do are endless while staying in Cozumel and after a long day of playing in the sun, you can come back to your home away from home at the Flamingo and relax on our roof deck and view the sunset.

At the end of the day retire to a beautifully appointed guest room. The guestrooms will make you feel right at home under the tropical sun. Appointed with stucco walls in the old Mexican style and plantation shutters, these rooms invite you to stay a little longer. The hotel offers a wonderful Café and Bar that serves a full breakfast as well.
AMENITIES: In each of our 22 rooms, you'll feel right at home under the tropical sun. Stucco walls in the old Mexican style, plantation shutters and air conditioning will bring you some relief from the heat after a hard day of playing in the sun... And why not have a drink before dinner on the hotel's roof veranda, gazing at the beautiful sunset over the Caribbean sea?

ACTIVITIES: The "Flamingo Divers" program allows the advanced as well as beginner diver to take part. We feature new top of the line Scubapro dive equipment for our rentals. We also offer extra services such as our dive equipment cleaning and storage to help keep your vacation worry free. A self-service rinse tank is also available for your use.

For snorkelers, there are plenty of places to go off the shore such as Playa Corona or Chankanaab Park. Snorkling trips by boat are available, but our recommendation is to save your money and go it at your own pace via moped or car. We soon will have snorkling gear for rent from the hotel at a nominal fee.

DINING/RESTARUANTS: Café and Bar

We are open from 7am to 11 am and 5 pm to 9 pm. Drinks may be purchased anytime.

We serve a full breakfast as well as dinner items from our Bar-B-Q

For drinks we have a selection of beers, wines, sodas, and mixed drinks. We also serve cappuccino, espresso and deserts.

There are many great places to dine out now and most of them are a short walking distance from the hotel. This is one of the good things about staying in town. Purified water is served in most of the places and stomach discomfort seems to be a thing of the past. We have listed various places by types of food served.

Mexican

Pancho's – Located behind Cinco soles, Panchos has a great colonial atmosphere. The food is excellent. Mention to Manuel who is the manager that you are staying at the Flamingo and you will get a free gold margarita with your meal.

La Choza – One of the island's most popular spots. Good fish

Casa Dennis – Locate in the square, prices are very reasonable and food is good.

Italian

Guido's – Just around the corner from the hotel. Great outside eating area. Excellent pizza , pasta, and fish dishes

Prima – Located in the square. Very popular with large menu. Try the crab. Expensive

Cocina Italiana – Run by an Italian family, this place is very good. Expensive.

Romantic and Fine Dinning

El Guacamayo – My choice for the most romantic place to eat. Good selection of fish as well as lobster which can be selected by weight. There is a duck pond with a bridge between the two sides of the place. Need to take taxi to get there. Expensive

La Cocay – My choice for some of the best gourmet food on the island! This is as good as it gets. Run by a family from Montreal, Rob is the chef who creates some very special dishes. Located outside of downtown near Corpus Christi Church. Expensive

Manatee – This place is a great little find! Just one block back from the hotel, they have just 5 tables. Gourmet food and nice romantic atmosphere. Need to make reservations since seating is very limited.

French Quarter - Newly opened and becoming popular. Cajun specialties. Try the jambalyla, my favorite!

Casual Dinning

Flamingo Café and Bar – Just downstairs you can find a great breakfast menu as well as appetizers and dinner items from our BBQ. Try the waffle for breakfast! Julian makes one of the best margaritas on the island. Full bar and room service. Internet service available.

Hardrock Café – For large chain, the food is good here.

Crab Shack – Across from La Choza, this is the place to go for crab sandwiches.

Mission on 30th Ave. – This is the place where locals in the know go. Excellent traditional Mexican food. Very inexpensive. Do not confuse with La mission downtown which is more expensive and has different menu
