Seagrape Villa - Trinidad and Tobago ()

The villa is situated in the entensive grounds of a small hotel (Inn on the Bay) at Little Rockley Bay, just a few miles from the island's main town, Scarborough.

Guests at the villa are welcome at the hotel swimming pool, restaurant and bars. There's also a taxi service from the hotel or car hire can be arranged for you.

You need go no further than the villa's verandah, where gentle trade winds cool you down.

But going out, right across the quiet local road from the villa, "Warm Pool" is a natural beach, offering safe bathing and an ideal haven to comb for driftwood. And when the tide is right, there are plenty of lovely walks along the beaches.

Nearby beaches, within short driving distances, include Canoe Bay (a peaceful sandy beach with safe bathing and plenty of birds to watch) and Pigeon Point, which is probably the best known beach in Tobago, and one of the most famous of the entire Caribbean. This beach has everything! Soft, silvery sands, plenty of places to eat and drink and the warm Caribbean Sea for safe bathing. Glass-bottom boats ply their business of taking guests to visit the magical undersea world of Buccoo Reef and a return via the Nylon Pool.

There are plenty of other beaches well worth visiting, including Store Bay, Pirate's Bay, Castara and Englishman's Bay.

A trip to the Tobago Forest Reserve is a must! 14,000 acres of Tropical Rain Forest, protected since 1776 (making it the oldest protected rainforest in the western hemisphere) can be visited with one of many guides, who will identify the full and varied bird-life, trees and plants.

Scarboroough is a lively town, where Tobagonians go about their daily lives in their usual friendly and colourful way. There is a market which is busiest on Fridays and Saturdays but throughout the week, tropical fruit and vegetables, meat and fish are sold. There are also plenty of pretty and interesting villages worthy of your time: Charlotteville, Speyside and Plymouth to name just a few.

Eating out is a delight in Tobago. Calypso Cafe at the Inn on the Bay serves meals throughout the day and Bonkers at the hotel's sister, Toucan Inn, has a solid reputation. But when you arrive at the villa, an Eating Out Guide will tell you more and get your mouth watering!
