<title>CaribbeanMag.com: Capri Isle - Trinidad and Tobago ()</title>
<description>
And for One moment in time, live what remains for others but a Caribbean dream . . .an island all to yourself, where the only building is the one you occupy, the only people you meet are there to serve you, and the only sounds you hear are the surf, the wind, the birds and yourself thinking.

<title>Capri Isle  - Trinidad and Tobago  ()</title>
<description>
TobagOh!
There's nothing little about the experience of this small, unspoiled island in the sun. If you like abundant natural beauty, authentic indigenous culture, ruins and other historical sites, some of the best reef dives in the world and peace and quiet, all within easy reach of each other, Tobago is a place to be. To find out more about Tobago's amazing biodiversity and rich heritage.

A few facts about Tobago …

- Location - North east of Trinidad, its sister isle, about 7 miles from Venezuela, and 11 degrees above the equator.
- Size - Approximately 116 square miles.
- Population - Last estimated at 45,000.
- Language - English
- Climate - Tropical. Dry Season: January to June. Rainy Season: July to December.
- Transportation - A car is put at the disposal of guests to Capri Isle. However, there are chauffeured taxis, tour guides (car or mini bus), and several rental establishments providing cars, jeeps and bicycles.

AMENITIES: Feel right, at Home . . .
A real alternative to the suite life, Capri Isle is rustic, homely, unpretentious and, above all, very comfortable. In short, your home away from the everyday affords you all the comforts of un-modern living:
- Three upper-storey bedrooms "air conditioned" by constant trade winds
- your bedroom window to the world is a sea-scape spanning from the Caribbean Sea across the Atlantic Ocean, past Trinidad and beyond to where earth and sky curve away from view.
- a shared lounge (equipped with satellite television for those who wish to revisit the outside world), 4 baths, spacious entertainment area, a well appointed verandah and porch where your ceiling lights are the sun and the moon and stars, and which double as dining areas
- swim in the natural salt water pool and fish off your patio

Enjoy fine catering …
Tell our chef what you like, and he will make it so you like it more, adding a local flavour to an international palate of fine dining complemented by fine wines and beverages.

Be catered for …
Your every wish is your designated attendant's command. Call, write or email ahead, tell us of your special wants and desires, and s/he will be on hand to put everything in place, whether it's on Capri Isle or mainland Tobago.
ACTIVITIES: Occupy your Self …
A small island, but a big experience. Down south in the Caribbean, Tobago is one of the region's last unspoiled frontiers. Here sun, sea, sand, a rich indigenous culture and an amazing biodiversity are compressed into one small island. Don't forget to let your designated attendant know your personal tastes for adventure and discovery …

The numbers soar …
Home to hundreds of species of birds (the count increases almost daily), Tobago is a favourite destination among bird watchers. In fact, Trinidad and Tobago has the highest number of different species of birds per square mile in the world (source: Asa Wright Nature Centre), all of which are easily accessible as the islands are small.

A dance with the devil …
Tobago is one of only three places in the world which can virtually guarantee you a ride on the huge but harmless devil or manta ray. Tobago also boasts many superior reef dives and we can arrange safe, professional explorations which include photography and video services for you through our associates Scuba Adventure Safari.

A mother's tears …
Another gentle giant, the Leatherback returns to Tobago every year to lay her eggs. No one knows why leatherbacks "cry" when they are in labour.

"Visual surprise" …
is how Nobel Laureate, Derek Walcott, described the see-scapes of the Caribbean. Tobago verifies his poetry. A drive round the island can take you through bursts of colourful flora, alongside rocky coastlines and white coral sands and up to thundering waterfalls. Walks along nature trails on Capri Isle and the mainland bring you in touch with astounding and intricate detail.

A sporting chance …
In Tobago there are diverse opportunities for physical recreation: numerous underwater dives around the island, water sports such as sailing and wind surfing, and golf at the world famous course at Mt. Irvine Bay Hotel. Something for everyone.

Struggle, a thing of the past …
Stone forts, some in ruins, are the legacy of Europe's battles for supremacy over Tobago which changed hands between the Spanish, Dutch, French and English.
