<title>The Inn On The Bay *** - St. Lucia (Marigot Bay)</title>
<description>
Our dream was to build an intimate 5-room tropical retreat where our guests could escape to a world of relaxation and effortlessly savor the sights, sounds, and sweet sensations of this slice of heaven on earth.

This dream has brought us to the very top of St. Lucia's Marigot Bay, the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean, on a property that rises above the rest, with a view that is simply out of this world.

All year round, Marigot Bay is the home of dozens of sailboats which choose our tropical fjord as one of the nicest natural anchorage in the Caribbean.

Opening onto the Caribbean sea, Marigot Bay is conveniently situated 20 minutes South of Castries, the Island's Capital City, 45 minutes South of Pigeon Island National Park and 60 minutes North of the majestic Pitons

Of course Marigot Bay's unspoiled beauty is more than just a feast for the eyes. A ten minute walk from the Inn will take you to Marigot's sandy beach and all of the very best in water sports: from swimming, diving and snorkeling, to fishing, windsurfing and sailing.

The area has a lot to offer: waterfront restaurants and bars, boat and yacht rentals, and a wide range of sight-seeing activities in and around Marigot Bay.

And don't forget! Transportation to the bay area and back to the Inn is available upon request at no charge. Just one more aspect of the very personalized service you receive when you stay at The Inn On The Bay!

"The most beautiful Bay in the Caribbean"...That's how author James A Michener once described beautiful Marigot Bay in St. Lucia! Let The Inn On The Bay also be your dream come true!
We are here to provide you with everything you need, including generous helpings of peace and privacy.

High above Marigot Bay, The Inn On The Bay, commands not only a fabulous view but also benefits from a continual natural cool mountain breeze. Here, there is no need for air-conditioners and no fear of any mosquitoes.

To help you enjoy the natural beauty of our island in your own privacy, each of the five modern and spacious guest rooms of The Inn main building is appointed with a high ceiling (for the wonderful light!), private bathroom, hair dryer, queen-size bed, mini-refrigerator, table and chairs, dresser, ceiling fan and security doors.
ACTIVITIES: Open year round, St. Lucia Golf and Country Club is set in the scenic, rolling hills of Cap Estates, and offers panoramic views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean.

Their newly designed fully irrigated 18 hole, 6829 Yard Par 71 course is the only 18 hole course on the island. They also have a complete Pro-Shop featuring your favorite name brands. A 350 Yard Driving Range and Golf Academy and a Full Service Restaurant with scenic views of the Caribbean and surrounding architecture.

La Toc Golf Course
Sandals St. Lucia offers a magnificent course with rolling hills and majestic fairways directly on the premises. With 9 greens, the narrow fairways make the course a challenge for the best of golfers. Caddies are not included but mandatory.

St. Lucia's natural beauty on land, is mirrored many time over under the sea within easy reach with just a mask, snorkel and fins.

From Tuesday to Saturday, a speed boat will whisk you down the coast in twenty minutes to St. Lucia only protect marine reserve in Anse Chastanet and one of the Caribbean's most beautiful coral reefs just a few feet from the beach.

Upon your arrival at Anse Chastanet you will given a quick tour of the premises as well as some information as to how best enjoy the reef.

Your snorkeling gear is included in the package and the friendly staff will make sure everything fits you correctly.

Once you've set foot into the warm Caribbean water, don't be surprised if the multi-colored fish think you are one of them. Fishing has been restricted for many years and the tropical fish have gotten so used to swimmers, some will even eat out of your hand.

Don't hesitate to check the many guide books for all the bright, bizarre, odd shaped and funny looking species you're sure to see. Lunch is served in a wonderful ocean side restaurant as part of the package for $59.00, including a locker too.

It's the ideal way to explore the clear waters of Marigot Bay!

The Aquarius center also offers you a water-taxi service to the north and south of the island. A great way to travel around!

Enjoy a private sailing tour on an Impulse 21 to Anse Couchon, one of St. Lucia's greatest sorkeling spot.

Cosmos, Marigot Bay Water sports' Owner.
At the back, up the hill, The Inn On The Bay.

Windsurfing and Kitesurfing
The Club Mistral Windsurfing Centre and Skyriders Kitesurfing Centre are located on the grounds of The Reef Beach Cafe in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. The windsurfing centre is equipped with 2002 Mistral windsurfing boards and North rigs, whilst the kitesurfing centre features Naish kites and boards. The centres are located on the Atlantic coast at the southern end of this fun-filled Caribbean island, facing the full force of the trade winds.

Both centres are really easy to find, as they are on the main Castries-Vieux Fort road, approximately 2-minutes drive from Hewanorra International airport. Both are located on St Lucia's best windsurfing beach, on the south-east coast of the island close to the town of Vieux Fort. Just 1000 yards out to sea lie the twin Maria Islands - windswept and uninhabited, these remain unchanged since Carib Indians roamed the beaches and now provide sanctuary for many unique species of flora and fauna.

As is typical for all of the region, St. Lucia has a tradewind season which lasts from December through to May, however during June and July there are also some good windsurfing days.

At the white sandy beach of Anse de Sables in Vieux Fort, the prevailing winds blow cross-onshore from the left with generally flat water over the major part of the sailing area. Apart from the reef break approximately 1km offshore, which is clearly identifiable by the white water surrounding it, the entire sailing area in the bay is safe and sandy-bottomed so you can sail barefoot. The launch area is also free of anything 'nasty' underfoot, with negligible shorebreak towards the upwind end of the bay. Further downwind the shorebreak can be more challenging, particularly when the winds have been consistently high for a few days. There may also be more swell and chop towards the centre of the bay at these times. During the winter months (Dec-Mar) a 'shortie' wetsuit or lycra top is useful against windchill.

Facilities at this beach include 2 restaurants, toilet and beach facilities (loungers, beach umbrellas etc). There is usually safety-boat cover operated by one of the windsurfing centres located here.

The windsurfing centre is equipped with thirty (30) 2002 Mistral boards and fifty (50) rigs from North Sails.

Board Rental

Rental of Board or Rig only
Equipment Insurance (full coverage of all damages, except negligence)

Deep Sea Fishing
Come along and do battle with the big one with Captain Chris Hackshaw and his experienced and friendly fishing team. Chris's Grand father started charter fishing around the beautiful and very productive waters of St. Lucia over forty years ago and subsequently passed on a wealth of knowledge. Presently Chris's cousin has the St. Lucia Blue Marlin record of 707 pounds caught at one of our International Bill fishing tournaments.

They presently operate three sport fishing vessels: a Customized 38' Bertram Special "Sea Hunter" powered with twin Detroit Diesels capable of speeds to 25 kts, a 31' Bertram Bahia Mar " Blue Boy" powered with twin Perkins 275 h.p. Diesels capable of 31 kts and a 32' Formula "Miss-T" powered with twin 250 h.p. Perkins Diesels capable of 24 kts.

All their boats are equipped with Fish-Finders, GPS systems, Penn International and Shimano Reels and a wide variety of lures for a number of different species of game fish, the Sea Hunter is also equipped with Radar, auto pilot, fridge, stove, freezer, and is air conditioned in the cabin. All three vessels are fitted with coast guard approved safety equipment.

There are a wide variety of game fish around the island with the more common being Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, King Fish, Yellow Fin Tuna, Dorado, Mackerel and Barracuda. Hackshaw Boat Charters strongly believe in the conservation of St. Lucia's fish stocks and thus practice a strict Tag and release program of all BillFish, with the tag certificate being presented to the angler by the International Gamefishing Fish Association.

Apart from sport fishing charters they also do whale and dolphin watching trips! (453-0553)
