The views from the deck of Pelican House, overlooking the bay, are simply breathtaking. Yachts ply back and forth past the sand spit into one of the Caribbean's safest anchorages.

Pelican House - St. Lucia (Marigot Bay)

Marigot Bay has a long history as one of the Caribbean's safest hurricane holes. The Moorings Yacht Charter Company runs a thirty yacht fleet from its base on the north side of the bay.

Marigot makes a truly exceptional and beautiful holiday destination. Swim from the sand spit beach in the blue warm waters of the Caribbean. Sun bathe on the white sand beach under gently rustling palm trees.

In the bay there is a choice of good bars and restaurants, some with swimming pools attached. There is a small supermarket for groceries. You can hire a sailing dingy, snorkel in the bay, or take a dive boat to other protected dive sites on the Island.

To explore more of St Lucia, water and motor taxis are always available, as are hire cars for those who want to roam independently. For shopping, the capital of St Lucia, Castries is 15 minutes drive away along a new coastal road. Another 20 minutes north the large beach and vacation area of Rodney Bay is found. To the south is the Old French capital of Soufriere and nearby the drive-in volcano, Pitons, beaches and hotels at Anse Chastanet and Jalousie.

Pelican House is located on a hill on the north side of the bay with easy access to the bay's facilities. It shares the north side with a few other private holiday homes, a small hotel and time-share development. There is no general access to the hill, which makes Pelican House private and tranquil enough for a really quiet and restful holiday.

St. Lucia has two airports: Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort and Vigie Airport near Castries. British Airways, American Airlines, Amerijet International Inc., Air Canada, and BWIA provide international flights. Vigie Airport just outside Castries is served by LIAT, BWIA, Air Martinique, American Eagle, Helenair, and Eagle Air.

The main sea port is Castries. There is an additional deep water anchorage for cargo and container ships at Vieux Fort in the south near the airport. Pointe Seraphine is the port of entry for cruise ships.

Cars and four-wheel-drive vehicles can be booked in advance through a travel agent or at the airports, hotels or at the following car rental offices on the island:
