Zamas Tulum Hotel and Restaurant - Tulum Mexico (Tulum)

ZAMAS: The original meaning being "new beginnings" is a privately owned resort run by Daniel McGettigan and Susan Bohlken. A lifelong dream come to fruition with the establishment of this beachfront property since 1991. Originally from San Francisco California, Daniel and Susan discovered this place while on honeymoon and the dream began. It took a
lot of hard work but this has now become home. The Que Fresco Restaurant, is owned and operated by Daniel and Susan is located on the property and has developed a reputation of its own excellent food and service. Enjoy traditional Mayan, Mexican foods, even Italian Pizzas baked in their wood burning stone oven. Something for everyone and everything fresh and delicious. The relaxing beach and friendly atmosphere give Zamas its unique personality and it is becoming more
well known and visited with each passing year. Come experience Zamas and be our guests.

AMENITIES: - Beach
- Beach front palapas
- Beach Chairs
- Drinking Water
- Towels and Linens
- Restaurant and Bar ĦQue Fresco!

Our bungalows are architecturally designed to reflect traditional Maya style, built with hard woods and thatch roofs. Splashes of colorful tile and stucco are inspired by Mexican design. The bungalows are comfortably furnished and feature private porches with hammocks.
ACTIVITIES: TULUM RUINS These ruins are located on a gorgeous bluff; it's a small site and it's very close. It's best to go early in the day to avoid the tour buses. Because they're so close and because the sight is so beautiful we definitely think it's worth the visit. The ruins are open from 8am-5:30pm and have free entry on Sundays. (10 minute drive from ZAMAS.)

COBA RUINS These ruins are newly discovered, not very commercial yet and are considered a very serious site. Only a small percentage has been rehabilitated and made available to the public. They still sit amongst the natural jungle setting and are, for this reason, more mysterious than many of the developed sites. Also, 15 minutes west of Coba is a spider monkey habitat where you can observe monkeys in their natural daily lives. (Approximately 45-60 minutes from ZAMAS)
