Alamina Beach House Apartments - Belize (Caye Caulker)

A lovingly restored beachfront family home on Caye Caulker, Belize Central America

Alamina Beach House was built originally in 1975 by Norman Alamina, a boat builder and lifelong resident of Caye Caulker. It is one of a few original clapboard island homes that remain on Caye Caulker's beachfront, having survived Hurricane Mitch and Hurricane Keith. Over the years he added on to the building and it now houses Caribbean Colors Art Gallery, Lighthouse Ice Cream Parlor and Rasta Pasta Restaurant on the first floor, and three large apartments on the second floor. This property and its surrounding beachfront is part of the Alamina estate once owned by Norman's father and grandfather. It is now owned and being developed by the children and grandchildren. The site where the Alamina Beach House stands was originally where Norman's father, Valentine Alamina had his general store.
