Also a visit to the downtown area of Ponce is a must, with its late 1800's black and white fire station, restored plaza area and downtown. A visit to San German, city of hills, is always a treat. Narrow streets lead to the Plaza area, where you will find the Porta Coeli church, one of the oldest churches in the western hemisphere. Other attractions include the Caves at Camuy, with the Indian drawings, going to the Cabo Rojo area to see the "faro" or lighthouse, maybe El Monte Del Estado, with it's wonderful lookout area, or the coffee country of Maricao.
