Hotel great, Transglobal/Lomas are not

The Barcelo Maya Resort is a real jewel, and we loved every aspect of our stay. Our problem was with TransGlobal Vacations (aka Lomas Travel at the Resort) and with Abby Travel, the agent in Duluth, MN that booked our trip. We were the victims of a bait & switch operation in which we were told before we left that we were 'paid in full,' but then we were charged an additional $10,800 pesos, $900+ USD while staying at the hotel. TransGlobal and Abby Travel refused to rectify the situation. Lastly, TransGlobal bungled our departure transportation to the airport, so we had to pay $50 out of pocket for a last minute taxi. But, like I said, the resort was great!
