My husband and I booked our Feb 2003 Honeymoon at the El Dorado Royale Resort & Spa through Red Seal in Oct 2002. We had researched the resort thoroughly and received information from the resort on the Honeymoon package they offered. (private dinner for two on the beach, room upgrade, private limo service from airport, free massage class for couples). When we arrived in Cancun Sunwing reps told us the resort was overbooked and we would be going to an alternative resort. We insisted they call the resort, that this was our Honeymoon and check that our booking was available. The resort said there were no rooms available. We were sent to the Iberostar Paraiso - a nice resort (however, not adults only or a resort I would choose for a Honeymoon). Only a room with double beds was available. It was a Sunday and we tried to reach management at the El Dorado and our travel agent back home (phone bill cost us over $200). The next day we moved to a room with a king size bed and had checked for messages. It was on the 3rd day in the late afternoon that we heard from the EDR, calling to say our room was ready and they would upgrade our room. (this was included in the Honeymoon Package) I had to ask for them to cover the cost of the cab to get there.
