We spent our honeymoon at the El Dorado Royale from June 28 through July 6th of this year. We had discussed the resort with our travel agent and reviewed the brochure and thought it would be perfect for what we had in mind. The El Dorado Royale Resort exceeded our expectations and outdid its own brochure. We had a lovely Casita Suite and we experienced nothing but excellent service. The property was gorgeous, the spa was excellent and the food was great too. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian restaurant where we had a phenomenal 6 course meal. My husband swears they had the best Tiramisu he ever had.

The only downsides are the beach is rocky so definitely bring water shoes and there is an area on the outskirts of the property that does smell terrible because of this murky pond in the woods. However, the smell is only there and no place else on the property.

From our conversations with other guests it seems like staying at a casita makes a huge difference, you never have a problem making a dinner reservation and you are in a prime location. The other accommodations may not live up to the 5 star rating but the Casita suites do.

We had a wonderful, romantic relaxing time and the cabanas on the beach were the best. Be sure to get up early and claim one for the day. Then relax and enjoy.
