Wow, suprised at some of the bad reviews. I think most of the disapointed people traveled during the peek season, or need more than me to be satisfied. I along with my husband of 13 years went to El Dorado Royale for some rest and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. We had a Junior Suite ocean view. The room was very clean and beutiful. We didn't have any problems at all making reservations for dinner. Yes, you need to get down there early (9:00) to make them but you can take a number and walk around awhile and wait for your number. It really wasn't very busy when we booked all of our reservations. We stayed 7 nights so we ate at all the restraunts. We learned to order something from every course because they are small proportions. Oriental and Steakhouse were our favorites. The drinks were great and plentiful. The beach was nice, white sand and clear blue water. It is a little rocky in some areas but plenty of nice swimming without rocks. We went snorkeling by the pier, lots of fish. If you are looking for shells walk to the right side (south) of the beach, bigger ones there. I loved this place and hated to leave. In fact we only went on two outing, XhellHa -all inclusive no Tulum, Playa Del Carmen at night (5:00-10:00p.m.) We talked with others who tried to do both Xhell Ha and Tulum and wished they would have stayed at Xhell Ha, not enough time there. It is a huge park, so we were glad we stayed all day. Playa Del Carmen is more comfortable at night when the temp. cools down and the lights come on. I would definatly recomend this resort for any couple that wants some rest and relaxation.
