Sun Village Resort - A Sunny Nightmare

Sun Village Beach Resort - Puerto Plata
The 'resort' is a two/three star hotel with terrible food and even worse service. It takes an entire day to check in. Some people had to share accommodations for one night, because of overbooking. Most of the rooms overlook an enormous parking lot. There are NO rooms with water views -- very misleading. Daily, you must rent dilapidating beach towels & you're fined if you don't return them on a daily basis. To give you a little insight as to the management of the property, the only ADULT pool is FREELY frequented by kids/children and their mindless parents. The concierge told my guests that my party is from NYC so our expectations are too high. The midday music blast on the beach will unnerve any guest. It turned out to be a moderately priced, non-restful, & annoying vacation. I have since wrote the Canadian owners of this 'resort' and am awaiting a response. The only acceptable part of the trip was the flight in and out of DR!
