I went to this exact hotel with my mother and I will warn WOMEN never to go alone! I was not only harassed constantly, but nearly raped. Yes the staff will hit on you and some try to follow you into your room too. Use common sense-don't trust anyone, not even the staff!
Some are actually jiggolos(the staff) and will try to woo you and then take you out back and tell you "$20" for sex (this is behing the Bachata by the bushes)you then quickly realize that they are jiggolos. This sounds like I'm making this shit up-but it's true.
I talked to some of the staff who says that many of the men do this for money (and women too). Hookering is getting more and more common in the Dominican Republic, as I saw on the news. Generally the staff are hardworking, nice people, but don't confide in them or become friends with them if you have no man with you. They will only try to get into bed with you or get your money.
These men can't take no for an answer, if I told them I had a boyfriend they would say "no matter he is not here" or they would say "but do you have a dominican one?" Never go places by yourself, even in the resort!They LOVE to stare-especially if you are different from them. For instance I have pale skin, freckles, and green eyes.
Don't get me wrong, I had a blast, but never again will I trust anyone that works at that hotel.
