Great Vacation With A European Flair!

Barcelo Capella was the best vacation we have taken. We are well traveled and enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely go there again. It is clean, comfortable, well staffed with good food. Every trip we have taken to an all inclusive resort has not lived up to this facility. If you like to travel with the natives of the island then take the bus as we did. The city of Santo Domingo has a museum, art galleries, restaurants etc. We also rented a car from Avis down the block from the resort. A better spot to rent a vehicle then across the street (cheaper, more reliable). Take the car to Altos Chavron to see beautiful scenery an interesting complex built by Gulf and Western that has an art school and galleries. It has a restaurant with a view of the students sketching. Just be careful driving because of pot holes but well worth the momentary discomfort. You don't need to spend the money on guided trips. You can do it yourself if you are explorers.
