Maya Beach Hotel is a must if you are going to the Placencia area and want a small hotel with clean, comfortable rooms, incredible food and a beautiful, beachfront location. We preferred it over another high priced hotel we stayed at in the area because of the great food, friendly owners, and comfortable 'feel' of the place. The owners, John and Ellen, set us up with a great guide and we enjoyed all of the suggested tours (don't miss the Monkey River Tour and snorkeling and bone fishing on Ranguana Cay with Ralph). The restaurant served the best food we had anywhere in Belize; everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and masterfully presented. We will definitely return soon!
