My wife and I were part of a group tht stayed for a week at Bananarama and were we dissapointed. First we had to pay an extra $10 a day to use the air conditioning and then it barely worked. The maid would turn the AC off every day and then the room would not cool off until the next morning about 3-4 AM, so effectively there was no AC in the afternoon or evening when we were getting ready for bed. In actuality, we were paying for AC and really never had it except for a few hours in the mornings.
When we complained the owner and manager they told us it would be fixed but nothing ever happened.
The resort is not on the beach and you have to walk down a path to get to the beach and if you want to sit on the beach in a beach chair, you have to rent one for $5 a day, so much for a beach resort!!!
The dive shop is supposed to be a 5 star PADI outfit but they sure did not act like one, no one even asked to see our C cards before they took us diving. More importantly, when we dove with Nitrox they did not write down the O2 percentage so when I checked the tank I could not be sure if the check matched, then they shorted us on Nitrox PSI. The most any nitrox tank was filled was to ~2550 PSI, so much for extending bottom time with the use of Nitrox!!!
I was very dissapointed with everything about this resort and would not recommend this operation to anyone who wants an easy going, fun vacation.
