Gran Bahia Principe Akumel Mexico

We are an english family of three. Just returning from this beautiful resort and we have no complaints unlike our American cousins. Please be aware that they can never be satisfied and unless something is American made its not up to "American Standards". This resort has very hard working staff, many of them speak English. My suggestion to the complainers of the language barrier is to learn some spanish before you go. The mexicans do all the hard work when it comes to communicating and people complaining about the lack of English speakers in this spanish speaking country ought to be ashmed of themselves. And by the way you do not have to tip these people for better service. I think it is insulting to suggest they will only give good service if they get tips. We did not tip apart from when in the a la carte restuarants. The service was excellent at all times.

Comment from a French person. I simply think Mrs. Norwood should take her nationalist issues and comments somewhere else, not on a Resort Review site. This board is intended to give people information about various people's experiences with the resort offerings. So far, Mrs. Norwoood review did nothing of the kind. Totally useless.

Just read this review and I am also French albeit I haved lived in the UK all my life and while I can see the view of the other french person, perhaps this lady was just stating a fact as she experienced. Other reviews I have read on this hotel on another site have had similar feedback that many American tourist appear to complain alot so you do need to bear this in mind when reading reviews and deciding on what to take in.

They can never be satisfied??? I resent that statement. We just spent a week at the Gran Bahia, it was fantastic. By the way Mrs. Norwood, I tipped waiters, drivers the maid and so on. Two or three dollars will go a long way with the staff and make their day. Loosen up
