Location Overview / Where is Dominica located?:
Dominica (pronounced "Dom-in-eek-a") is an island of volcanic origins located between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean, at approximately 15 degrees North latitude and 61 degrees West longitude.
Dominica is in the Lesser Antilles a part of the Eastern Caribbean and is approx. halfway between Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south. Dominica is mountainous with several peaks rising even above 4,000 ft. and covered with rich forests.
It is the largest and most mountainous of the the Windward Islands, with an area of 289.5 sq. miles. It is 29 miles long and 16 miles at its widest.

When to go December through mid-April is the most popular time to visit the Caribbean, as travelers flee the chilly northern weather for sunny skies, white-sand beaches, and warm temperatures. To get the best rates, visit in the late spring or summer months—or get even better rates by traveling in the fall (September–October).
Animals Animals may enter if accompanied by a valid veterinary health certificate plus an importation permit from the Veterinary Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Botanical Gardens, Roseau. Their offices are open Monday to Thursday 8 AM-3 PM, Friday 8 PM-5 PM.
Cuisine Our cuisine is like our history and culture, an exciting blend which draws heavily from our Creole past.
