Bonaire is part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao), which are located 75 miles (120 KM) off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea. It is a 3 hour flight from Atlanta, 2½ hours from Miami, and 8 hours from Amsterdam. There are direct flights from these cities twice a week and connecting flights every day.
Bonaire covers roughly 111 square miles, with a width that ranges from 3 to 7 miles and a length of approximately 24 miles.
Bonaire is the second largest island of the Netherlands Antilles, the westernmost group of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Bonaire is the B of the ABC islands with her sister islands of the Dutch Caribbean - Aruba and Curacao.

Bonaire is south of Caribbean hurricane belt and is rarely threatened.

Choosing a car-rental agency When choosing a car-rental agency, ask your travel agent about a company's customer-service record. How has the company responded to late plane arrivals and vehicle mishaps? Are there often lines at the rental counter? If you're traveling during a holiday period, does a confirmed reservation guarantee you a car?
Bag it Bag it. Plastic bags -- for everything from toiletries to shoes to aerosol cans -- have prevented many a suitcase fiasco.
Religion: Roman Catholic with Protestant denominations and there is a new mosque.
Customs: Besides articles for personal use, visitors over 15 are allowed 400 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 250 grams of tobacco, 2 liters of distillated beverages, 2 liters of wine.
Business: Banks are open 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday, with a two-hour break at noon. The main banks are ABN/AMRO, Banco Di Caribe, Maduro and Curiels Bank, Interbank, McLaughlin Bank. Shops mostly open 8am-noon and 2-6pm. Major credit cards accepted in most larger places.
