Location Overview / Where is Aruba located?: The island – 20 miles long by six wide, or 32km by 10km and is 15 miles (24 km) north of Venezuela. The island is part of the Dutch Caribbean and is one of the "ABC" islands - Aruba, Bonaire Curacao. Because Aruba is located so far south, it lies outside of the the primary hurricane belt.
When to go December through mid-April is the most popular time to visit the Caribbean, as travelers flee the chilly northern weather for sunny skies, white-sand beaches, and warm temperatures. To get the best rates, visit in the late spring or summer months—or get even better rates by traveling in the fall (September–October).
Basic Emergancy Kit Band-aids, antibiotic ointment, tweezers, nail clippers (for some reason we think our nails grow faster down there???), tylenol, anti-bacterial wipes.
Electricity: Rarely is there a power failure and the island has decided to adopt the North American voltage standard of 110 A.C. (60 cycles), the same as in the United States and Canada. The TV standard is NTSC so your home video camera will also play back on the hotel's TV sets or large screen projectors.
