This private island, hideaway resort with two miles of white-sand beach is located in the Caribbean's Turks and Caicos islands.
There are just 12 spacious beachfront guest rooms, the secluded Sand Dollar cottage, and a variety of private cottages available.
Barefoot informality and sensitivity to the natural environment combine to provide a romantic tropical setting for this small, convivial, and unspoiled retreat.
Pine Cay is a secluded 800-acre island, conveniently located just 560 miles southeast of Miami. The only resort on the island, the Meridian Club is beautifully positioned on a two-mile stretch of talcum-powder beach, considered one of the finest in the Caribbean. Soothing trade winds ensure comfortable temperatures and low humidity year round.
The Club is an environmentally sensitive resort, ideal for those seeking an unspoiled retreat. Its 12 rooms and the Sand Dollar Cottage, are set among sand dunes, sea oats and sea grapes, and close to the beach. Some of the privately owned cottages that share the island are also available for rent.
The resort is well known for its excellent cuisine, attentive staff, and "barefoot elegance." Its rooms and cottages, tucked along the shoreline and dunes, all offer panoramic views of the ocean and the island.
The two-story Clubhouse -- with its indoor restaurant, bar, and guest lounge -- overlooks a shimmering pool and the Caribbean Sea. There are outdoor dining areas on the terrace and in a colorful tropical garden, facing the beach with its thatched "shade huts" and sunning chairs.

Days begin for early risers with coffee and freshly baked pastries set out at sunrise on the open-air dining terrace. English breakfasts soon follow with freshly squeezed juices and such Club favorites as omelets, banana pancakes, and coconut waffles. If you prefer, breakfast can be brought to your room. Lunch -- a light buffet of fresh salads and Pine Cay specialties -- is followed by a casual refreshment break in the mid-afternoon.
The highlight of the day is dinner by candlelight, served in the open-air, poolside dining room. The ever-changing menu always features fresh catches from the sea and a broad selection of meat and fowl dishes. Desserts range from Pine Cay lime pie to chocolate terrine with raspberry sauce. After dinner, drinks and coffee and tea are served upstairs in the lounge, the perfect place for watching the stars and recounting the memories of the day. |
