D E S C R I P T I O N:

Magens Point Resort is located on the cool, scenic, north side of St. Thomas. Small, Intimate and Secluded, it is situated on a lush tropical hillside overlooking World-Famous Magens Bay Beach, and acclaimed Fazio designed Mahogany Run Golf Course.

A D D I T I O N A L     I N F O:

52 Suites overlooking world-famous Magens Bay Beach (1/2 mile) and Mahogany Run Golf Course (1 mile). Poolside Restaurant, Bar, two lighted Tennis Courts, Jacuzzi, Mini-Gym, Mini-Store and a large freshwater pool. Located 3.5 miles from duty-free shopping in Charlotte Amalie & 6.5 miles from Airport.

Mahogany Run's 18 championship holes, including the famous "Devil's Triangle," were designed by George and Tom Fazio with challenge in mind. The breathtaking coastline of St. Thomas and the natural contours of it's hills and valleys combine with year-round sunshine and tropical flora to create the golfing thrill of a lifetime.

Magens Beach is heart shaped and is approximately 1 mile long. The bottom is sandy and slopes gently down. With the exception of a few weeks a year when the prevailing northeast winds shift to the west, the are no waves or currents at Magens Beach. While there is plenty of beach to sun on, there are also plenty of shaded areas under the trees. Life Guard service is provided from 6 AM to 6 PM Monday through Sunday year round. On the southern and northern ends of the beach are rock formations in the water that provide good snorkeling. NUDE BATHING is not allowed on Magens Beach. However, it is allowed at Little Magens Beach which is a short swim away.

HISTORY: Magens Bay Beach has been called one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic Magazine. It has a long and interesting history. Local legend says that Sir Francis Drake used Magens Bay as an anchorage for his ships while he watched from a nearby hilltop for ships that he could plunder. Later, the local sugar cane plantations used Magens Bay as a shipping point for sugar, molasses and rum. The remains of an old brick road cane still be seen from the south end of the beach. Later, Magens Beach was acquired by the Fairchild family and then donated to the people of the Virgin Islands for their enjoyment.

TRANSPORTATION: Magens Beach is 1/2 miles from Magens Point Resort. The road to the beach is shaded by overhanging trees and provides a relaxing downhill walk to the beach. For those club members or guests that prefer to take life easy, Magens Point provides FREE scheduled transportation to and from the beach. Taxi services are also available at the beach.

D I N I N G   &   R E S T A U R A N T S:
