Start your day with a complimentary homemade breakfast on the veranda while enjoying a spectacular view of the harbor. Glance up the hill and stare in amazement at the local architecture and buildings. Wonder how they ever got there. You can even see the Governor's house . Shopping, sailing and sightseeing are all within easy reach. The ferries to St. John and neighboring islands are within walking distance and our world famous beaches are 10 -20 minutes away, depending on which piece of paradise you want to visit.
Of course your day may consist solely of lounging about, reading a book and swimming in our refreshing pool. In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner next door at Herve Restaurant while watching the twinkling harbor lights. Or explore any one of a number of outstanding restaurants all within walking distance or a short taxi ride. You'll love the Galleon House. Taxi: At the airport, just outside of the baggage claim area there is a taxi dispatch. Speak to the person who appears to be in charge and tell them you are going to the Galleon House on Government Hill. He will know exactly where we are and will make sure you get into the correct cab. The fare should be approximately $7 per person plus $1 - $4 per bag, depending on the size/weight of the bag.
Driving: Leaving the airport (only one way out) you will come to a stoplight. Turn right onto Hwy 30 (Veterans Drive). Stay on this road and after about 2.5 miles you will see the harbor/waterfront on your right. Get into the left lane and stay there.
At Tolbod Gade (the street light just before the road veers right) you will be forced to turn left because you should be in the left hand lane.
Go one block (staying to the left) and the road will turn to the left and you will find yourself at a yield sign in front of a post office. To your right, across the street from the post office you will see a park going up a hill and there is a road that forms the rear border of the park.
Proceed through the yield sign and turn HARD RIGHT so that you now find yourself following the road that borders the park. As the road goes up the hill and veers right, you will see signs on the left side of the road for Galleon House (and Herve's Restaurant).
Park on the street (during the day it can be difficult but after 4:30 pm you shouldn't have a problem) and follow the sidewalk with the blue railing all the way behind the Herve's Restaurant until you reach the Galleon House reception area.
