great experience
By: Patricia "Pat" Tingley from Kapaa, Hawaii
Date of Visit: November 2002
I visited Blackbeard's prior to 2002,(I think it was in 1995?). It was my first visit to the Inn. As a female traveling alone I found out after arriving that the majority of the guests staying there during my visit were gay men. How perfect! Didn't have to worry about being hit on! Anyway, I had a fabulously delicious Thanksgiving dinner my first night, and thoughts that the dining area was such a perfect setting for meals. I particularly enjoyed the swimming pool area, which was very peaceful and of course, who could complain about the views?! My room was perfect and the Inn staff could not have been better hosts. However, I am sad to learn that the Inn is no longer in operation for lodging, and I wonder if there are plans to reopen it? I don't know if anyone will read this, but if so I would love to hear back about future plans for the Inn. By the way, over the years since my stay there, I've never forgotten my experience there. I now live in Hawaii and would like to include Blackbeard's Inn in my itinerary to a future trip back to the Virgin Islands. Is that possible? Mahalo and aloha, Pat Tingley, Kauaipat@aol.com
