Horrendous Experience

I could go into my whole horror story, but I'll make it brief:
Check in: I was one of two people checking in and it took like 45 minutes!!! I have no idea what they were doing behind that desk!
Long wait in the restaurant: Expect to wait a LONG time to be served at the restaurant.
Unfriendly Staff: If someone EVER smiles at you and makes you feel welcomed, I'd be shocked! The staff don't make eye-contact with you, they're rude, and completely untrained to deliver customer service.
Bad toilets: The toilets don't flush well. One night, my son used it and it refused to flush. To make a long story short, we waited 18 hours with poop floating around and our room smelling like a sewer. Eighteen hours it took them to simply show up with a plunger. Unbelievable!!!
Dirty cutlery: On several occasions, we sat down at a table at the restaurant and had to ask them to replace the cutlery because there was old food stuck to the forks!! Rediculous!!!
No water: One day we returned to the room to find absolutely NO running water!! I had to send my kids to the pool to wash off the sand. I reported it and no-one ever followed up to see if it was fixed. About an hour or so later, the water returned.
On the good side, the beach was indeed beautiful and the view from the room was also beautiful, but I'll never stay there again!

Worst Hotel Service and Product

Everything this hotel advertises is a lie. Beware, I have read positive reviews on several websites, and it seems that the management of this hotel is writing them. No one could ignore the fact that airplanes land basically in the parking lot of this hotel. It is a thirty second taxi ride from the airport. The hotel is very run down and dated. All the staff, with a few exceptions, were extremely rude and untrained. Most of the staff actually seemed upset with the management and were not afraid to speak their mind on how badly this hotel is operated. Our room was very small and had many problems. Namely, the linens were in very poor condition and had numerous stainings and rips. The water pressure was vacant and the absence of hot water was noticible. We had several problems that were brought to the attention of the manager, and after three days we finally caught up with him. He informed us that we must be too picky and may need to go to the Ritz if we did not like his 'grand' hotel. Very rude and unreasonable. The pool area was very small, the restaurant was the worst, and simply the hotel did not meet one expectation. worst of all, we were made to feel it was our own fault for choosing the hotel and it being in poor condition. Do yourself a favor, check out the marriott or wyndham, or even sapphire beach resort for a better location for a vacation and a much better overall experience.

Romance Abounds at Emerald Beach

Ladies, grab your guy and make him book you a vacation at the most romantic, intimate resort in the Virgin Islands. The Emerald Beach Resort sits on one of the best beaches in the world, and you will have it to yourself most of the time. The rooms are literally on the beach, 10 steps out and your feet would be in the wonderful Caribbean Sea. The entire hotel sets the mood for relaxing romance and the wasting away of all your worldly cares. The rooms are very nice, lots of marble and huge bathrooms. The private balconies provide couples with a sense of 'island seclusion'. There is no place on the mainland that can compare to the beauty of St. Thomas, surely no other place has so many great beaches.
The pool is really wonderful, with a large waterfall overlooking the ocean..just breathtaking. The beach is powder white sand with NO ROCKS! You can walk out for a long ways into the ocean..and the tide is so gentle most of the time you can just lay out and float all day..WOW! Even the restaurant is world class, called the Palms, they have weekend events that are too good to be true. The Emerald Beach is priced affordably, so you can spend some extra time there. Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly, we did encounter some that were too busy to talk to us. Of course, when you get out into St. Thomas you understand that Emerald Beach had GREAT service when compared to other places.
Emerald Beach had weddings almost everyday it seems. It would be a great spot to get married. I think my boyfriend wanted to propose right there just because of how beautiful it was! I am sure that this hotel is great for families, but for couples it is pure magic. Most resort hotels have so much commericalism attched, they try to sell you everything and want to keep you on their property. Emerald Beach is not like that at all, it feels more like a small inn on the beach rather than a 100 room resort. I am sure that everyone that goes to Emerald Beach returns eventually. The highest of recommendations to Emerald Beach, and I am a travel professional that travels all over the island region in the Caribbean.
