Won't Be Back

My recent stay at the Holland House (2/14 - 2/21) was very good except for one major problem. The first night that I decided to have dinner in the restaurant I ordered the roasted duck. My waitress appeared friendly at first but I had noticed that the couple who sat next to me who came after me had already finished their dinner before my duck had even been served.I asked the waitress who had served them, Shelly Anne was her name, why the duck was taking so long. It had been 20 minutes since I had finished my appetizers. Shelly said (keep in mind she is not my waitress) she would look into it and 2 minutes later, being very apologetic although it was not her doing, served me my duck. It was cold duck, not the champagne mind you. I quickly ate my meal, paid for it, and complained to the food and beverage manager. My complaint went in one ear and out the other. Keep in mind I had just paid $50 dollars for the meal and no retribution was offered. I did not spend another nickel in that place. The only reason I stayed after that was because of the friendly, prompt and courteous of the black staff. I was told by another guest that if I was Dutch it would have taken care of immediately. So if you can get through all of this, I had a great time but deal with the black staff ( I am a white US citizen by the way). Stay away from the Dutch. And if you do decide to eat in the resturant, request Shelly Anne, she was great!!!!

The Holland House is a nice Hotel with nice people who do their utmost.I experienced excellent service. Very fine beach and no problems at all.
