Honeymoon Nightmare
By: Bryan from New York
Date of Visit: August 2007
Unfortunately, the absolute beauty of this resort was greatly diminished by the abominable service bestowed upon us by upper and lower management. Our air conditioner remained broken for our entire trip (even with multiple complaints beginning on day one), and a plethora of other otherwise individually minimal issues compounded for our experience to have fallen terribly short of what we expected. Safety issues exist in the more remote villas and a general lack of acknowledgement toward any of our legitimate complaints remained persistent. We don't normally add to such message boards as these and are generally easy going and easy to please, but this experience has caused us to reach out and go out of our way to be sure to warn others who might be taken by surprise as we were.

Beautiful Resort
By: Jill from Ashburn, Virginia
Date of Visit: November 2006
I just got back from the Windjammer Landing resort. It is a beautiful resort. You do get a great workout from climbing up to your villa each day. My boyfriend and I did not mind it since we like to work out, but for some of the villa locations you definately need a shuttle to and from.
Our workouts each morning were to climb to the top, beautiful views. We stayed probably in the cheapest room with no pool and it was beautiful. 2 balconies, big size room, walkin closet etc. It does have regular USA outlets in case anyone was wondering which was great.
The beach is nice and the people are pretty much friendly some didnt really try that hard and there seemed to be 2 reservation desks we didnt know what either one did? We did not do all inclusive and instead bought food at a local grocery store in Rodney bay $10 cab ride cheap groceries and stocked them in our frigerator in the room. Saved us a ton of money and only ate out at night at the resort restaurant mainly jammers on the beach pretty good food and or went into town. The GROS ISLET jump up on Friday night was fun great local food.
I highly recommend DAL's (tuna and pees in a crossiant type thing) The chicken roti's were okay they have potatos in them or you can get veggie. It is so hard to get around the island, we wanted to rent a car, but there are no street signs, its on the right hand side of the road, crazy drivers, very bumpy. So we did however get a great deal by Aldrin (taxi guy) for $70 each we took a tour of the whole island about a 7 hour trip. Started at Pigeon bay up north down to the Piton volcanos at the southern end.
We ended up at Ladera Resort restaurant overlooking the volcanos so beautiful go and take pictures. My favorite place was Marigot bay, gorgeous place. If I ever come back I would stay here. We had a great time! Hope you enjoy your stay as well.

10 Years in Paradise
By: Jim Alfonse from New England
Date of Visit: May 2006
Jan and I had been to 7-8 Caribbian Islands over the years when we picked St Lucia 11 years ago. Upgrading from the standard tour package we picked the Windjammer Landing. We were very impressd with the hospitality and the resort upkeep. We bought our first week of timeshare on that visit. We've been coming back almost every year since. The staff at the resort recognised us from the first year onward and we're greeted with hugs and kisses when we return each year. It's like being one of the family. Being a diver, we've gotten to know the onsite diveshop operators. Eastern Caribbean Diving consists of a husband/wife team who have become very good friends over the years. They do all of the dive sites and are extremely helpful with begining/first time divers. We're up to three weeks of timeshare now, and we'd stay longer if our jobs permitted.

Simply Wonderful *****
By: Alex from London
Date of Visit: February 2005
We spent our honeymoon at Windjammer and it was simply fabulous.
The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful but at the same time were never obsequious or fawning. The villa, which was perched half-way up the hillside, had a stunning view of the sea. It was clean and very well apppointed.
There are are avirety of places to eat and drink and they have a brilliant 'ambassador service' so that there is someone who's job it is to organise whatever you would like and make sure everything is ok for you. We had the most wonderful time.

Paradise
By: Richard from Salem, MA
Date of Visit: June 2003
Windjammer-Landing resort was better than I imagined. We had a 1 bedroom villa with pool, with an excellent view of the sea from the bedroom and the living area downstairs. Also, the villa was very private. The housekeeping was great and the pool was cleaned daily. As far as the food goes, the Dragonfly restaurant was the best, Papa Don's was OK and Jammer's always had something good to eat. We went all-inclusive for 4 days, should have done AI all week. I would highly recommend the Windjammer and will go back again.
We went into Castries for a day and found the market very interesting. But you are constantly being chased by cab drivers looking to take you on a tour or hawkers with their beads. After awhile it gets a little annoying. We did not go the 'Jump Up' at Gros Islet, but we ran into a couple that did and once they arrived at the Jump Up, they did not get out of the taxi and returned to the resort.
The catamaran trip down to the Pitons is really good but not worth US$90.00 per person. We only paid US$20.00 per person because Windjammer had a promotion if you did the timeshare tour.

Windjammer landing - good
By: Anonymous from London, England
Date of Visit: January 2003
I have visited this resort more than once and have seen various changes in Management over the years. The resort has been improved compared to a visit I made in 1998. The one-bedroom villas with plunge pools are lovely and give quite a lot of privacy. The resort has good gardens and planting. Some of the watersports equipment could be updated. They have added HObiecats since my last visit. The Dragonfly restaurant serves good-quality food. The price is slightly expensive but comparable to eating in an equivalent restaurant off resort if you add the taxi fare to get there! Taxis in St Lucia are expensive.
The attentiveness of the staff is good and the people are pleasant. The timeshare team are not too pushy and you do get a free daysail if you go on their presentation! Having seen the timeshare villas, they are of a higher quality than the rental properties.
My one criticism is of the beach where the water is cloudy. Early morning snorkelling is good but all beaches on the North of the island suffer from cloudy water. Down south is better.

Windjammer Customer treatment
By: Dave Ciebien from Ottawa
Date of Visit: October 2002
We selected the Windjammer because of the number of restaurants and the superior rating. The resort claimed to have 5 restaurants. In fact they had 1 retaurant for breakfast and lunch and 2 at diner. When we complained to the tour operator, the resort management lied about the available facilities. Their own daily activity log however, proved their dishonesty. The way in which the matter was handled was very poor. I would never stay at this resort again. We are planning a return to St. Lucia because the island and people are outstanding but will take our business to a honest establishment.

Windjammer Super Vacation
By: Anonymous from Harrisburg, PA
Date of Visit: March 2003
My wife and I just returned from a week at the Landing, 3/1-3/8. I cannot begin to express my total satisfaction and appreciation for all the hard working employees, from the gracious ladies who took care of our room (Island) to the maintenance workers to Larry the bartender (Jammers Beach Bar)who was so very helpul and informative and the staff at the main office, check-in area and Main desk.
We had an all inclusive plan that took care of all meals and drinks, excepting the usual top shelfers like Absolut, Baileys, and similar. The meals at Papa Dons were excellent, as were breakfasts at Dragonfly and of course lunch and dinner at Jammers.
The weather was picture postcard perfect, low to mid 80's and mid 70's at night with an ocassional 400 a.m. shower and a once or twice 1000 a.m. shower that did no harm.
Sit thru the RCI time share and save $60 or so per person for the Wednesday Endless Summer cruise that takes you down the coast to the the "drive through" volcano, nearby Diamond Botanical Gardens...The RCI deal was such a bargain and the representaive, Curtis, was a real pro and no high pressure salesman, but a thorough professional. We bought a time share and will be returning to beautiful St. Lucia again and again.
Final suggestions? Bring SPF 45 sunscreen, maybe 50 2 dollar bills for tipping and the like, half the clothing you think you will need, and spend as much time on the internet to learn as much as possible before arriving....it'll save you time and money. If using birth certificates in lieu of a Passport, have drivers license and if married, a marriage certificate for returning through INS.
US Air direct from Philadelphia is a good bet also.
