still spectacular

I read the reviews a nd could not find recent ones....this worried me. We stayed in late August 2007. It's true, the place is enormous with plenty of room and bathrooms. thte pool and "happy hour tour" were delightful. I am not sure wht it qwoul be like if we had to share thehouse--but we didn't and it was exceptionally private. There may be one ofr two things that need to be updated, but all the rea;;y improtant things like cleanliness, taste in decor, appointments (full kitchen) were there. We couldn't figure out the entertainment center, so we couldn't watch tcv, but this is good---we needed a break. The owners were not in town burt were in contact to answer all questions. For clarity - it is ot a "walk to the beach"; it is a ride. But the remote location is the best part.

Quality - and the price is right

We stayed at Starlit Escape on this our third visit to St. John. The villa was just right for us (3 couples). There's a master bedroom with its own bath and two nice sized other bedrooms with a bath in the hall. There's also a sleeping loft with a double bed. Everything was immaculate! The kitchen was well equipped; living area was very comfortable. There is another master bedroom downstairs, below the level of the main house, that's bright, cool and breezy.
It was nice to reurn to Starlit after long days at the beach, take hot powerful showers, and sip our blender drinks poolside. The covered veranda was a perfect place to sit and watch the hummingbirds while reminiscing with friends! The house had a full entertainment center including cable TV, VCR, DVD, stereo with surround sound, CD player, and all the other dreature comforts. Even binoculars and a telescope were provided.
We highly recommend Starlit for a luxurious yet affordable St. John escape!

Starlit Villa

We stayed in the Starlit suite with 2 other couples. It was fantastic. Immaculately clean, huge, quite. Everything worked! It's actually better than advertised (Very unusual!). The hosts, Carrie and Brad are super nice people that went out of their way to make sure we were having a great vacation. Their sense of humor and anecdotes about St. John (as well as their advice) were an extra bonus. We had a GREAT vacation, and we will be back!

Starlit Escape Villa

Date of Visit: June 2003
We didn't actually stay at Starlit Escape - we had seen it on the Internet so when we got to St. John we gave the owner a call (340-715-2448). He said we could come on out and take a look. First, it was a work in progress and should be open by now. The owners had renovated a very huge house and put in new cabinets, appliances, furniture (you name it, almost everything was new), built a pool with a sun deck and painted everything in real bright Caribbean colors. They were busy planting trees and bushes on the day we stopped & stayed for a few hours. Very nice people! They subdivided the building in to two units. The upper unit is a really large house (too big to call an apartment) with 4 bed rooms, and the downstairs is a one bed room suite. It will be very peaceful with the paths and gardens. It is in a very deserted and quiet part of the island, so no need even to lock the doors! It is absolutely beautiful!! Gary and I are going to be staying there (downstairs in the Escape Suite) in November. We can't wait to drink wine by the pool while we watch the stars!
