Fantastic stay

We had a delightful time at Caneel Bay. Its expensive, sure, but you get what you pay for. The service was top-notch. We enjoyed not only the property but also the other guests, many of whom have been regular visitors to Caneel Bay for 10=15 years. Weather was super.

Save your money. Or, go to a $79/night motel in Florida and burn $800 a day. They do have a nice shallow beach if you have small children. But the wood is rotting, the paint is peeling and the food is mediocre. Our room had a strong urine stench which, although we reported it EVERY SINGLE DAY, the managemnet never fixed it and they NEVER OFFERED AN APOLOGY OR A DIFFERNT ROOM OR A REBATE. The place is a dump and they don't care about you. I've been to a half-dozen resorts in the Caribbean and this is BY FAR THE WORST. Too bad it's not possible to give zero stars, because that is what it rates.
