Fun stay

This was one of the most pleasant places that I have stayed but it is not for everybody. The name should be Nelda’s hacienda. This is not really a commercial property just a private home with a little extra space that is rented out periodically. The owner is not really a business person just a friendly soul with a little extra space. You are up in the mountain and not really all that close to anything except the mountain. It's great at night when you set outside and listen to the frogs singing.
If you want to spend time in a tropical forests it’s for you unless you want to camp. You will be treated as family as soon as you arrive. It is close to the bioluminescent bay and I suppose there are beaches nearby. The view is good and the seclusion is wonderful.
We needed a place to stay after a cruise in this fit the bill perfectly. Call her at 787 885 4040 or mobile 787 435 1154. Pay in cash only.

Great place great people!

Nilda was the best, she was more than hospitable towards us. She went out of the way on numerous occasions to help in our planing of day to day things to do. Actually calling for us. Some of these reviews that don't speak well of the Paloma seem of the wall to me. All I can say is, we're counting the days till our next visit to The Paloma inn.

terrible experience

The proprietess at La Paloma Resort seemed to be a caring maternal woman until the time for payment came. She preferred cash and as I did not have cash on me, my partner gave her a debit card and we were told there would only be a hold for $325.00 if we could get her cash the following day. Well I paid her the cash the following day and she said she would reverse the debit card transaction. It is now over 2 months later and she has not reimbursed us. she has told us that her accountant did so but the money never showed up in my partner's account. Everytime i have called I have gotten the runaround. Last week she said she mailed it, it hasn't arrived. I can't believe this was happening b/c she seemed so genuine. I have now filed complaints with the BBB of SE Florida and the Caribbean and my bank was investigating this matter for fraud but just told me b/c i dont have a receipt for the cash transaction, i will not recover my money. I have been so upset by this it has ruined the memories of our trip to Puerto Rico. I would NEVER return to this place.
