Just What We Needed

I was surprised to NOT find a review here for Hikaru !
I was one of a group of 6 friends who spent a week there in '03.
It was quite honestly , the best vacation we could have imagined. Now... If you're looking for hustle bustle touristy places , souvenir shops , nightclubs , and a myriad of activities...this may NOT be for you.
While not fancy or deluxe , the accomodations are clean , well-maintained and perfectly suited to the relaxed atmosphere of the place. Miss Joyce and Miss Jennie will prepare your meals and do whatever housekeeping is required. They are an absolute joy. The pool is well-maintained. The most impressive part of the property itself is the huge patio/veranda with a glorious unobstructed view of the ocean and private grounds , full of lush colorful tropical plants. We sat there mesmerized for hours at a time.The ocean waves crash constantly on the reef out front. A short walk along the beach takes you to a beautiful reef-less stretch of beach for swimming and playing in the surf. Treasure Beach is a safe and friendly community. Rustic and quiet , but beautiful in it's simplicity.
We NEVER repeat vacations... until we spent a week at Hikaru. I'm guessing that we'll find ourselves back there in '05.
