My husband and I have stayed at the Allamanda Beach Resort many times since it opened in 1998. We found the owners and their family to be caring and involved with the day-to-day management of the property. The staff has changed little over the years which indicates that it is a good place to go. We have made many friends on the island, locals and transplants like ourselves, because of the perfect location in the middle of Grand Anse Beach - a beautiful almost 2-mile beach.
Our accomodations were nicely appointed and kept clean. Our longest stay was for 3 weeks and we intend to stay for 4 weeks this year. Every room has a view of the water, even though the front rooms are considered 'ocean view'. We spent many hours on our balcony relaxing and reading.
The hotel is within walking distance of 2 supermarkets, several shops and coffee shops, as well as banks and a pharmacy. It is easy to grab a cab or a jitney into town or to arrange for a tour of the island by cab or with a tour group. There are many sites of interest as the island has a rich history and it is known as 'The Spice Island'.
Overall, a wonderful experience.
