The guesthouse Villa Iguana is located in the heard of the fishermen village Bayahibe, 8 min to walk to the beautiful beach. It´s owned by a german couple and guests enjoy a private atmosphere in the house with only 11 accomodations ( rooms and apartments).
The guesthouse Villa Iguana is located in the fishermen village Bayahibe, at the south east coast of the Domincan Republic. This caribbean village is a perfect starting point for excursions to the islands Saona, Catalina and Catalinita. Bayahibe is close to the National Park del Este- on land and under water the park is reserve of tropical biodiversity. There is a beautiful sand beach, 2 min to walk from the village, in the villae are 9 restaurants, dominican mnimarkets and a dominican discothek.
Villa Iguana is owned by a german couple living more then 10 years in this area. The house is quiet new and European standard. Only 1 min to walk to the ocean front, 8 min to walk to the beach. There are total 11 accomodations, rooms and apartment. The penthouse room is 4rth floor, costructed in typical dominican style, with a palm tree roof. Guests of the penthouse room have a great panorama ocean view, terrace, private sundeck and a small private swimming pool. The familiar atmosphere is great for short and long time vacacionists ( winter in the Caribbean!!)
Next airport is La Romana only 10 min to drive.
Then Punta Cana and Santo Domingo ( 1,5 hour drive ) |

There are 9 restaurants in Bayahibe, most are at the ocean front. Different nationalities like french, italien, dominican offer a variety of food, specialy the seafood is great and always fresh. |
The Bayahibe area is the best area for scuba diving in the Dominican Republic. Coral reefs in the National Park, the islands with great spots nearby, makes Bayahibe interesting, also for experienced divers. There is a wall, a huge wreck and shark diving. Nitrox is available. PADI training, all levels. |
