lovely time

i have been to the other side of dom rep but came to the south side and i thought the other side was haven untill i saw the south side
that is why i am going back in just 3 weeks time cant wait cant say any thing but good things about this hotel and the people who work there first class
and still trying to find the black pearl

This Hotel and People were AMAZING

This hotel was beautiful.. The grounds were manicured and so wonderful to just go for walks among all the exquisite flowers! It was breathtaking. They were constantly caring for the grounds and it showed in how beautiful they were.
The pools were clean and so clear. We never had any problems with the pool being overcrowded or unkept. The larger pool had one swim up bar and the bartenders were fantastic. Always putting on a show and talking with us as if we had known them for years. The food was different than what we are use to, of course. But we had no problem in finding lots of food to keep us well satisfied the seven days we were here. We went to eat at two of the specialty restaurants. They were exquisite! We really enjoyed them.
The staff was AMAZING! And we had our favorite. If you read this Jonny, You are the best! We loved you and plan on having you as our waiter upon our return! You ROCK!! We are going for a longer stay next time we go. It just wasn't long enough and I might mention, our first time ever going out of country. We visited a little village down from the Hacienda. It was Bayahibe and a lovely town. We walked to a cigar factory. They actually rolled the cigars right there for us. It was so interesting. They even allowed us to video them doing it. It was great! We really enjoyed going there. We ended up walking there twice while at the Hotel. There was a casino, but we never did get to it. The one time we did try to go we were about an hour early and we never did get back after that. Not that it wasn't nice. We just enjoyed the Hacienda so much and the beach was to die for, so we spent most of our time there.
There was a lighthouse on the beach and it served drinks all day long. It was wonderful and so picturesque. We snorkeled on several occasions. My first time doing it. My son and daughter in law taught me right there. And that was just awesome. My son and his wife took a trip and did some scuba diving, first time they had ever done it too. They really enjoyed that. They plan on doing more of that when we return to the Dominica. Our rooms were beautiful and we both had ground floor rooms. Only one problem when we arrived my husband and my room was not ready. It took them a couple hours to get it prepared for us. I was not near as upset as he was. But in the end, it turned out OK and we had a lovely room and a wonderful stay at the Iberostar.
The entertainment was lots of fun and they were always evolving us in the shows. It was fun and very enjoyable. All in all, I believe our stay at the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus in the Dominican Republic was just fantastic. We loved everything about it and we are most definitely going to return. We talked with people who had been there 4, 5 and 7 times and were planning on return trips. I guess we are also hooked, because we are planning on return trips as often as we can!
