GORGEOUS & BEST STAFF !!

Hi there, I've been to Bahia 2 times now...once as a single with my best friend (about 4 years ago) and once again with my 12 year old daughter + one of her friends (this last July). I cannot say enough about this resort...maybe I can. I'm going back in Feb/08 to get married at this resort! Bringing our whole family! THE FOOD*** awesome THE ROOMS*** awesome THE SERVICE*** OUTSTANDING What more could you ask for in an underprivilaged country? Security was a big issue because I travelled with two girls by myself and I have to say...never even worried about the two kids. There was always staff around, smiling, offering assistance or food or drinks, whatever. MUST SAY THOUGH IF YOUR KIDS GET DRINKS FROM THE BAR***make sure there's no alcohol (couple of mistakes by bartender)...oops. Anyway, Nobody ever was bored..lots to do every day. Went on the Horse back riding excursion through the resort. If you plan on doing this, bring LOTS of treats for the local kids...somebody told me that and so we did (but, we were the only ones) and a few local children got left out...it was such a humbling experience to see the children SO HAPPY about a few candies, pencils, hair clips & such...I actually cried..very moving. BEST $35 US I ever spent.

Amazing

The resort was astonishingly beautiful and VERY well kept.
The staff were always gracious and did their best (even when we were asking for more than should be expected..lol).
There was a wide dichotomy of leisure styles... the main pool having more of a 'party' atmosphere... but the beach and 2 remaining pools had a more relaxed mood... allowing you to take part in what you wish!
The food was decent and had a good variety. As a picky eater, I did ok... so there should really be no worries!
The beach is miles long.. so if you want to find your own spot.. you can. It is true that the beach/deck chairs go quick... once you know that... we had no problem getting a prime spot on the way to breakfast. On the 1st day.. we still managed a decent spot around the main pool.
We went on a few tours (through Campo Tours at the end of the beach) and the Jeep Safari was an AMAZING way to get to see the country side. From a personal perspective, avoid the shopping tour... just go to the shacks on the beach and barter for souvenirs... much more productive!
Overall, I can not recommend this resort enough! If you come away with a negative experience... it might be because you're looking for one!

Not worth visiting
By: Anonymous from Toronto
Date of Visit: November 2004
Went to this resort in Nov. 04. The beds were terrible as were the pillows. The food at the buffet was bland and the same every second day. The hotel ran out of mixes for drinks. People held onto beach/pool lounge chairs all day even if they weren't there. Staff not very friendly. Won't go back or recommend it.
