Our first time
By: KarlandCindi from Miami, FL
Date of Visit: January 2008
We live in Miami and usually vacation in Negril. Fortunately we came to Curacao for a week on business and had the pleasure of spending New Year's eve 08 at the Mariott. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the service is outstanding. The prices were somewhat higher than we anticipated ($50 US for two burgers and soups at lunch, no drinks). After a leisurely drive around the island we came upon a local market and stocked up on drinks and snacks which worked out well for us. During our stay we visited the Hilton and the Holiday Inn for their casino and the Mariott was the right choice by far. The casio on property is a good size and has many options. We discovered Hold em Poker is uncommon in Curacao with the tournaments frequently being cancelled. Cash games are equally difficult to come by. As we were told by some serious locals in a game, there are only enough players on the island to host one game at a time. We cannot wait to come back!
