not a great hotel but make the best of it!

this place is closing and you can tell....BUT if you want a cheap vacation and beautiful beach then hurry up and go. keep in mind you are sharing the same beach with million dollar condos! stingray city was only 35per person and the sunset catamaran sail was also 35 per person from this hotel. we missed our sail and they gave us the money back! we were able to book one next door for same price. for 2 bucks you can hop on a bus (versus 6 per person by taxi) to georgetown for shopping in 10-15 minutes or go to hell for the same price in 15-20 minutes. there is not much to see in hell we spent less than an hour there. only one store but i've been to hell and back! breakfast is breakfast but lunch and dinner were hit or miss. however if you don't like your meal then go to Deckers or The Lone Star BUT the best there is an AMAZING italian restaurant ...Ragazzi! all are across the street. don't feel like you've already paid for meals why should you pay again...just compare your stay with the hotel next door The Beach Suites and you'll feel better. consider your drinks in the all inclusive and call it a day. the beds are uncomfortable and the pool was unclean but the people are wonderful. we stayed from sunday to friday so i wouldnt suggest a whole week but it's nice for a cheap get away for a 4 day weekend. be sure to check the forecast so you can plan your days according to when the sun is out and when it rains.

The worst experience EVER

My wife and I wanted to stay at an All-Inclusive resort in the Caribbean on our honeymoon. We decided to stay here at the Beach Club Colony Hotel after doing some serious research. The websites show amazing photos and really good reviews.
When we got there, we actually thought the taxi dropped us off at the wrong place. It was very dirty and messy and even had a bad odor. We went to the front desk and they told us our room wasn't available yet but to enjoy their buffet. We stayed for lunch and it just wasn't what we expected at all. All our hopes and anticipation was FAR greater than what we saw. After lunch we decided to check out and stay at the Westin. We didn't even wait to see our room. I would NOT recommend this property to anyone. It has seriously gone down hill since the 2004 hurricane. Even locals feel it is a terrible hotel and want it torn down.

Disappointed in the Beach Club Colony
By: Marilyn M. Parker from Douglasville, Georgia

We stayed there 18 months ago and enjoyed our vacation enough to book another trip. This year we booked with the BCC again and ended up moving to their sister resort, the Spanish Bay Reef. Our biggest complaints are, the poor condition of the rooms, beds are in need of new matresses, pillows and linens. When we were there in 2002 we enjoyed the meals. This time the choices were reduced and many items we enjoyed weren't there at all. Our room was not clean and had an unpleasent odor. These are things that the management can easily fix. I hope they do since the resort is on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
