Water sports heaven!

If you are into kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing or yachting...this is the place to go. The on-site marina center makes this a vacation that is so convenient. The rooms are large and comfortable, the food is very good, the service is great...but we go back for the water sports. There is a water taxi or shuttle to the 'sister resort' Royal Sunset where you can lounge on the beach and enjoy their all inclusive as well. Highly recommend this for someone looking to enjoy the best the Caribbean waters have to offer.

Sunset Lagoon Bliss

We just returned from a fabulous vacation at the Sunset Lagoon in Cancun. Having vacationed the year before at the Club Regina/Westin Resort down there, my standards were pretty high to begin with ~ even knowing Wilma did a lot of damage.
Let me just say, I was utterly impressed. This resort sits on the north end of the island on the lagoon side. It has amenities at the sister hotel, the Sunset Royal on the ocean side, but there is no comparison between the two. The Lagoon by FAR exceeded my expectations. The service was outstanding, every single server, recreational director, restaurant manager, you name it, had a smile on their face and was eager to please.
The all-inclusive fees were quite fair and reasonable, especially when you consider they will ply you with whatever beverage you want all day long... at several varying locations, including the lovely swim up bar.
The rooms were spectacular, cleaned daily, fresh towels. I enjoyed the evening outdoor shows, loved the water aerobics and the Jungle Tour was a blast.
All I can say is my fiance (who proposed there) and I very much intend to return to this excellent resort. It's not ritzy, it's classy. It's not gold and marble and glitter and glitz, it's cozy and endearing and comfortable and engaging.
